My ambition to be a writer has so far only resulted in three short stories. The muse is proving restive!
You can find my efforts here: together with synopses and an anonymous feedback form.
Enjoy!

I have a lot of sympathy for the Greens, their policies, and goals, but I'm sorry: Miliband is right here. Ramsay's stance is textbook NIMBYism
@BBCBreaking
"If Liberty means anything at all it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear"
This quote by George Orwell is carved in your very wall at Broadcasting House (next to the statue of Orwell)... What a joke!
Some preliminary testing indicates that Twitter is deboosting tweets containing certain words, including preventing them being shown as previews in DMs.

The Tories' new 'educational' slogan "One Britain, One Nation," is disturbingly reminiscent of an older slogan: "Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer" (one people, one realm, one leader)...

Sky and the BBC are both describing Galloway as a "controversial left-winger" this morning. Oddly they never describe Farage as a "controversial right-winger". Why is it only the left that needs singling out in this country?

I wish I could go back in time and watch
#TheAdamProject
(
@netflix

It's fun (plenty of action), witty (some proper zingers), moving (get your tissues), and it's got a great cast, led by

The calculation is that, with the support of most of the media, the British public can be made angrier about innocent foreigners than guilty politicians responsible for thousands of British deaths.
And all while claiming to care about ‘Christian’ values.
It will work too.
@BBCNews
Hey,
@BBCNews
, how can this be a "women's right event" when its leading figure (who is supported by Nazi groups!) says herself she is not a feminist, and opposes a number of existing procreative rights?
How the U.K. Became One of the Poorest Countries in Western Europe
Britain chose finance over industry, austerity over investment, and a closed economy over openness to the world.
It's amazing, isn't ? Harris hasn't even been selected yet and

is already trying to pull her and her record apart. Yet they give no scrutiny to Trump, only reporting his utterances unquestioningly and often breathlessly
@NileGardiner
Those bloody Marxist Welsh! Using their own language to name part of their country! How very dare they jettison their overlord's language?!
Go have a lie down, mate!
Zahawi complaining to the Mayor of London on twitter that there are now homeless people IN MAYFAIR!!!, when rough sleeping, which was visibly down under New Labour, rose by 74% under his mates's rule is peak hypocrisy. Utterly despicable

Prince Charles’s top aide, Michael Fawcett, has stepped down over evidence he "fixed" a CBE for Saudi tycoon who gave £1.5m to palace charity
Prince himself gave Saudi the honour in private ceremony after series of secret meetings
@UKLabour
In the past few months there has been statements, actions (and inactions), and votes that prove this is no longer the case. Stop the facile pinkwashing and put your house in order!
@mrjamesob
That's ok! They lit up up Downing Street in blue and yellow last night, so it's all good, because, ya know: Johnson has been very clear he opposes gesture politics, so...

As for the cost of housing the migrants and the application backlog, both of this are results of Tory mismanagement. They are keener on dogwhistle politics than really solving the problem
@OliverDowden
Don't pretend you and your mates care about London and its transport system. If you did, you'd give TfL the funding it needs. You are just using this crisis for political point scoring. Petty but typical
The bunch of self-serving charlatans currently in power in the UK and daily playing fast and loose with truth and facts make April's Fool day very redundant indeed

The only explanation is that it was deliberate. Of all the churches available they went for one that had been visited by a Tory PM before. And one whose views can easily be found online because of the coverage that previous visit generated. It's another dog whistle to the right
@prageru
And does that mean men should now wear only shorts (which women also wear!!!!), and isn't showing off your legs a little bit gay, anyway? OMG!!! I'm never leaving the house again!
Robinson is now openly citing the Daily Mail and the Sun as his sources of information. How is getting you cues from right-wing rags impartial?

It’s not Harry’s blushes being spared, but Andrew’s, but for some reason* the Mail seems determined to attack Harry and rehabilitate Andrew.
*We know the reasons
I can't help feeling that Mrs May's fine words against the
#NIProtocolBill
would gain much credibility if she had voted against that Bill she thinks is so bad, rather than simply abstain. No Tory MP voted against, but 72 abstained. The vote was won by 74 votes

I'm one of the "gay people" (unlike you!) and I don't feel "redefined". I do feel that this hateful campaign against trans people, orchestrated by a vocal tiny coterie, is the thin end of a dangerous and worrying wedge...
First they came...
@nadhimzahawi
It's not looking too "happy and peaceful" for you so far, is it?
As for prosperous, I'm sure you have well-paid accountants at hand to help with that
@metpoliceuk
Downing Street is teaming with Met Officers. They would have been aware of all those parties (including the ones we haven't heard about yet). Why didn't act at the time?

The PM has been many things about this. Clear is most definitely not one of them, inventing one contradictory excuse after another, without ever telling the truth, as we now know

The Holiday Inn hotel is now on fire. Words cannot express my anger and horror at what I’m witnessing. I just hope there are no residents inside the hotel
If you support Brexit, knowing the referendum has been officially declared fraudulent, knowing that the main promises have been proven to be false, knowing that the generations living with this mess voted against it...
You don't believe in democracy. You just believe in Brexit.

Talk about trolling Johnson and his shysters! Good work!
The BBC is playing a very dangerous game here.
The tweet is still live even though the headline has been changed (and the article doesn't say anything about the guy doing drag)
@IsabelOakeshott
I only wear a mask in public transport and indoor public spaces these days, but if people want to wear them outside (perhaps they forgot to take it off coming out of a shop, as I often do), it's their choice, something I understand you are normally all in favour

the 9yo's school asked them to come in wearing their comfiest clothes that they would like to curl up and read in. And the older kids had to take in a book to read out-loud to a child from Reception or Year 1.
@BBCNews
Funny how Rowling only invokes women to bash trans people. She never says anything about the real discriminations meted on them all the time. Almost as if it's not really women she cares about

is reporting on the lower-than-expected economic growth in the past few months. The pandemic is obviously mentioned as a cause for the previous economic decline. Not a word about Brexit however, whether as a limitation or a boost to growth. What an oversight!

I briefly transitioned in Sainsbury's this morning too!!! 😳
And again a bit later in my kitchen!
Eat your heart out, Orlando!
@montie
This is ridiculous, salaries are not calculated or indexed on commuting costs.
Also, if you are going down that road, working from home creates new costs for workers (extra use of energy and water, for example), are you going to consider that in your new pay scale?
