I feel like people often downplay how much jingliu's torture shaped blade and his character currently. The beliefs he holds, the hatred, the resentment are a mix of his own amnesia and hasty memories + mara AND a reflection of JL's (who was also mara struck and grieving).
Call me that friend who's too woke but I gen think Jingliu's torture and brainwashing of Yingxing isn't discussed enough outside of the Blade community. JL was a victim of his and DF's actions and what she did to him was disgusting and inhumane are statements that can co-exist.

It's because >it's< odd. All the information we have got from the sedition comes from unreliable narrators: blade barely remembers his past + what he believes was shaped by JL. Dan Heng was born and raised in a jail full of people who prayed on his downfall +.
I feel that most people have ended up accepting the Sedition lore that we have for now (that DF and YX wanted to revive BH etc etc) in the game but personally I still find it so odd that it's hard for me not to question/believe it.
