@Spatu1o I think the funniest thing about this is how overwhelmingly chill Rayquaza is normally. In PMD and ORAS it saves the world by destroying a meteor. It keeps peace between Groudon and Kyogre and doesn't start shit itself, but the SECOND there's an alien? It's ON SIGHT.

@HRTgoddess Hot take one person translated a combo route using the character's moves as discord emotes and I think we should normalize that just because it's super funny.

@MarandaWriter @Spatu1o The others didn't exist yet/weren't in his region, I guess? I have no doubt Rayquaza throw hands with ultra beasts.

@WilliamPrice413 @Spatu1o You don't tell him about the meteor until after you beat him. He picks a fight because you broke into his bedroom and started making demands of him, but the second he's aware of the meteor he's just "oh dw I'll handle that".

@sable_king @Spatu1o I mean, if some randoms barged into someone's bedroom unannounced, hands would get thrown. The fact that he goes "Oh shit I'll take care of that, but just warning you, you're caught in the crosshairs" the second you bring up the meteor is comparatively chill.

@Aeyga_X The post is misleading: there's no consensus about what the markings' purpose is. BUT subadult tigers are killed by other predators, including other tigers. If it was for defensive intimidation, it doesn't need to be meek prey for something else for eye marks to be useful.

@JaberwockPrince X-Men is like this, too. People talk about the show a lot, but even from the original comics Stan Lee and Jack Kirby wanted to make them an allegory for anybody that's marginalized. Race, disability, sexuality, things w themes of oppression can resonate with anyone.

@ZInterloper @Mangalawyer Dora is a silly goofy side character the same way Dusa was, though? Hades 2 is perfectly capable of the whole dramatic, not-overly-modern dialogue and storytelling, but characters like Dora, Dusa, and even Skelly are meant to be less serious.

@Kannas_Ricebowl In all fairness, the recent arc's just been a bit. underwhelming. For any of its merits, you can't deny that the offscreening is pretty cheap, and having Sukuna genuinely shaking then going "nah he wasn't trying at all" is just kind of tiresome.

@ElvingJack @Society25864498 Obligatory Spider-Verse mention gassing up how much emotion they had through the masks because the animators actually adored comics as an artistic medium ✨️.

@RickRaptor105 @BestInSlotYT @omegafreelancer - spend years whining about T.rex plumage.- "The woke left is trying to make the MASCULINE Tyrannosaurus into a drag queen!!!".- Oh wait actually it's pretty likely T.rex itself only had light feathering if any, it was mostly scaly.- "The woke left can't make up their minds!!!".

@KyeZzzz The amount of disrespect frame by frame animators get from anime fans is INSANE, given the work environments they're dealing with. It's something I'll never understand.

@BeatriceRenhart Zeus, ALWAYS depicted as an aging buff guy with white hair despite being the YOUNGEST child of Chronos? Nobody cares. Hestia, who is literally the sweet peacekeeping auntie and eldest child of Chronos? WHY ISN'T SHE 5'2 WITH E CUP BREASTS AND CURVIER THAN APHRODITE.

@BatmAndrewArt The fun thing about this is that Cyclops' beams are concussive blasts, not actual lasers like Dr Doom or Silver Surfer's. So him using that shit for movement is not only sick as fuck, it's comic accurate too!.

@chazmuco In a weird way, you can almost say that the pet industry is WORSE. The Qu did fucked up shit for their amusement, but it was also retaliation and punishment against outright enemies. Cynical breeders are just in it for self gain and don't even have malice, they just don't care.

@alsoabouteve @Unashamed366 No, it definitely is. One example being how people that live primarily at high elevations are mostly shorter thanks to low oxygen availability. It's not enough to be separate species (dogs are bred to be way different but are still dogs), but humans have evolved differently.

@DenverMuseumNS So not only are you insulting the artist's that pour themselves into their work, but science based artists that put in MORE work to research/study to make sure they portray everything from fauna to machinery correctly? AI doesn't care for accuracy or integrity. It's just lazy.

@puffys_art Most of them are tracers, scammers or bots, so don't feel bad! You can often tell because if they even have any art on their profile it's often in wildly different styles of completely different qualities, and a lot of them outright have no art on their profiles to show.

@troodonvet Fun fact for both, but even though their weapons are incredibly capable as defense, it's believed that they primarily evolved for fighting each other (which is most often for sexual selection) instead of predators!.

@StormLord96 @ElvingJack @Society25864498 That doesn't take away from the fact that a ton of the film does feature characters fully masked and still being incredibly expressive! It's more that they even do it at all than exclusively doing it; you can have emotions through masks AND unmasked scenes that are both great.

@StormLord96 @ElvingJack @Society25864498 It's only really a "flaw" insofar as that emotive masks are a very iconic part of the character, visually. Batman isn't the best comparison in OP considering you literally see half his face and eyes, but Spider-Man is partly characterized through the huge eyed mask.

Often not a lot of thought actually goes into the idea of tamed/domesticated prehistoric fauna besides "oh hey that'd be cool" but this read was pretty insightful and interesting! If you have any paleomedia in this vein I definitely suggest giving it a look!.
It's topical again: could we train and even domesticate non-bird #dinosaurs, if we lived alongside them? Yes, OF COURSE we could. Here's a much longer examination of this hypothetical issue. (images by Michael Skrepnick, James Robins, me, Ethan Kocak)

@ausar_the Wait, what have studies said about Triceratops' bite force? I was under the impression that T. rex is unrivaled as far as terrestrial bite force goes, with only aquatic macropredators having higher estimates.

@S1kipL0la As awful as that is, it's awesome that the artist has that viewpoint! I often worry with my own OCs about whether I'd represent other ethnicities/cultures properly, but finding joy in representation is a beautiful thing.

@StormLord96 @ElvingJack @Society25864498 Yeah, I definitely don't think it's a HUGE issue, more just another small thing. That said, I don't really remember any MCU scenes where he should've had the mask on instead. It's whatever to me, just figured I'd explain it.

@kolade_gram @4vataruniverse It's a bit subtle, but they actually show his skill very well. He generates lightning faster than two incredibly skilled firebenders (Ozai/Azula,) is the only one shown to do so with both hands independently, can do so mid flame jet, etc.

@KirbyDinoDude @21Fede_ It is! Taxonomy gets to be a clusterfuck with how certain things are recategorized every so often or not even agreed on, but scansoriopterygids like yi qi aren't avians. They're somewhat closely related though, since they're both pennaraptorans.

@sawyerleeart That's quite clever! You mentioned them not being practical mounts thanks to the blades, but if they're proven amiable enough to tame/even domesticate, who's to say they can't be gigantic chainsaw guard/sheep dogs.

@Riamus01 I don't think so, because there's an important difference. Dragons and griffin type animals have a quadruped base (reptile/lion body) and get wings tacked on. Bats already have wings with their front limbs, so there's no need to add back wings to them.

@Kannas_Ricebowl If you have faith in Gege, great, but the fight just kind of devolved into a cycle of "bring in character that has interesting, useful stuff to provide to the fight -> oh nvm sukuna sneezed and they're lying lifeless in a puddle now" so I don't know where it's going from here.

@Voidwalkerwins This is such an absurd idea but if you consider how they'd actually work together??? COOKAGE. There's enough parallels for them to understand each other but enough differences to make for an interesting dynamic.

@TM9380 There's always going to be a level of uncertainty, but does this much scrutiny still apply for more common ones like Triceratops or Allosaurus? Not sure what the actual numbers are for the # of individuals found, but tbf # of adults found would be lower by a good bit than that.

@Roachmellow @thegnarlyghost Even in that case, the classification isn't absolute since Kirin is an herbivore and still an Elder Dragon! It just refers to exceedingly rare creatures with unique/huge effects on ecosystems or that practically live outside of them.

@Awesome48978799 @ZeakNinja @fanmillack Hard magic systems have more clearly defined rules, and soft ones involve more flexibility and interpretation. You can have something in between too, like how Avatar has hard rules w the sun and moon, but also lets the concept of the flow of water inspire lightning redirection.

@Paleonyx_Art @JoshuaGoji @crocutamatata I'll never stop shilling for this specific idea, but consider the following: fantasy world where dinosaurs exist and are referred to as dragons, with different common names like shorestalkers for spinosaurids, shieldbearers for ceratopsians, etc.

@lobsterkiahlart It's even stupider because that anime uses real life deity names for completely unrelated gods in their world, while Hades actually is creating direct adaptations of those gods, considering their personalities and motifs. Hestia is a warm auntie, the design fits her perfectly.

@kolade_gram @4vataruniverse The literal INSTANT the eclipse subsided, he managed to generate lightning so fast Zuko barely caught it in time, just because he's that in tune with his bending. Even Azula didn't realize and only made the connection when she heard him start blasting.

@sawyerleeart Fire outside the normal yellow/orange is so stylish. It's one of the little things about George RR Martin's dragons that I absolutely adore even if it's never officially depicted.

@KaitonDeLin @Philosyphilis @erinmhk Amphicyonids (the bear dogs) are only called that because they look like a mix of the two, but they're not even remotely related. It's like how there's been so many times where nature evolved crab-looking things that aren't actually crabs.

@omegafreelancer Ok but consider a slightly different idea that's dope as fuck: worlds where dinosaurs live side by side with humans, but they're not called dinosaurs, they're called dragons, complete with common names for them.

@TM9380 As far as mass, isn't T.rex currently considered to be the largest by a decent margin? It's much more heavily built than any of the comparably sized theropods. If I'm misinterpreting, sorry, but the present tense wording makes it seem like there's no consensus in 2024.

@kolade_gram @4vataruniverse Like yes they definitely could've given him more opportunities to showcase his power and skill, but as things are Ozai has already demonstrated a level of mastery that is absolutely absurd.

@Riamus01 The body of a griffin isn't a bird, though. They have lion bodies, not avian ones. Griffins and hexapod dragons are a mix of different animals, with birds and bats being mostly the wings in their respective cases.

@Thatofarose There was a faked paper, wasn't there? Most people will trust it when coming from sources they assume are also genuinely interested (like the paleo artists that started it). It's not just random misinfo, it was people in a relevant community doing (a little) targeted trolling.

@omegafreelancer @johann122004 @dinomation2 I get why they'd use it just as a general explanation for someone who's not in too deep on this. Is there a phrase for the kind of cooperative hunting that badgers/coyotes or eels/groupers will do? That is, actively cooperating but VERY pissy if they feel slighted at all.

@troodonvet Oh I know! I just like sharing that as far as evolution goes it seemed like it was primarily/initially for fighting each other, and defense against predators is apparently just a bonus perk. The thought that of it just being "oh and fuck you too" is amusing to me.
