Reported victims of avian flu in NYC include a Great Horned Owl in Queens and some zoo ducks. Deceased waterfowl were seen today on the Central Park Reservoir.

Yesterday, I chaired a meeting of the Senate committee on Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks and Recreation. Among the legislation we voted on was a bill to create a task force on outdoor environmental education and recreation, and a bill to promote farmers markets in state parks.
