When it comes to wild-caught seafood, frozen actually means fresh. That is to say, our seafood is frozen for flavor. If you can’t enjoy seafood right off the boat, “quick freezing” means vibrant fillets retain high nutrition and clean, delicious flavor!
@unsurprisedbyit
None of the fish we provide is processed in Asia. It is all processed in Alaska or Washington state. You can learn more about our supply chain here ->

At Wild Alaskan Company we only sell wild-caught seafood sourced from Alaska. This means that we do not deal with any farmed fish, as finfish farming is illegal in the state of Alaska, nor do we offer any genetically modified salmon.
@rob4golf
Few things as delicious as well prepared sockeye. If you are used to cooking farmed salmon (which tends to have more fat than wild salmon due to being raised in captivity), then you will likely overcook wild salmon (especially sockeye) leading to the experience you’ve described.
A quarter of wild Alaska pollock gets processed into imitation crab, aka surimi. Pollock is also the type of fish most commonly used to make fish sticks.

@jjkillerxx
We use an eco-friendly, insulated cooler and include enough dry ice to keep your fish frozen even in the hottest conditions, or how late you might get home from work that day.
The wild Alaska pollock fishery is the most productive one in the U.S., accounting for over 40% (by weight) of seafood caught. It also happens to be the largest certified sustainable fishery in the world.

Our fish is safe to eat! The state of Alaska, has proactively been monitoring this situation. Fish and shellfish from Alaskan waters and beaches are not affected by the nuclear reactor damage in Japan and are safe to eat."-
Virtually all halibut are right-eyed, meaning both eyes are found on the upper side of the body. Left-eyed halibut are rare; one report suggested a ratio of about 1 in 20,000.

The vibrant red flesh of sockeye gets its signature color from an antioxidant called astaxanthin, a keto-carotenoid that it gets from its plankton-rich diet. Sockeye has the highest astaxanthin content of all species of wild salmon.

Alaska is the gold standard for sustainable seafood. Every year the amount of fish harvested is closely managed to ensure the ecosystem stays healthy, both now and for future generations.

We rely on Alaska’s Department of Environmental Conservation for all testing for pollutants, mercury, etc. They have a very comprehensive monitoring program.

Halibut is a flatfish, but it’s actually born to swim like a salmon. Then, while still young, its left eye wanders over to join the right eye on one side of its head, where it eventually becomes fixed in place as the bones in its skull ossify.

The negative effects of unregulated global fisheries are inexcusable. Furthermore, such effects could be virtually eliminated if the industry as a whole and governments were to adopt the sustainable management practices that the State of Alaska has pioneered.

This might sound a bit odd, but no, we aren't. We have yet to align ourselves with any of the third-party seafood sustainability certifications. We take this very seriously, but we haven’t found one that is as comprehensive as what the state of Alaska mandates.

Learning how to cook salmon is a game-changer. It’s also — contrary to popular belief — literally easier than frying up an egg. 🥓🐟🧀Bacon-salmon-and-cheese, anyone?
