The Bibby Stockholm cost the UK taxpayer £1.6 Billion for 504 spaces/rooms, for 18 months only. At £88 Million per month, that’s £175K per room, which equals £5,885 per night for an asylum seeker (based on a 30 days month) to reside here. This information has been public for years. Amazing how the BBC never mentioned the cost!

Palermo felt like the best bits of NY combined with incredible European influences. The smaller buildings are much more fun to live in too, with living at tree height being another plus… The dire choice of cheap, generic, soulless aesthetics is purely in the developers control, so yes they are to blame. Money is a dumb excuse, like meausing a nation purely by GDP. Who on earth wants to live in another glass-walled city? It kills the culture and the soul. The ‘Trump Tower’ vibe was chic in the 80’s. Seems we haven’t evolved much since then! As Global population declines and the boomer generation passes we will be left will millions of usless glass boxes, which are terrible for raising families and disconnect us from nature… In the words of Janet Jackson ‘you don’t know what you go ‘til it’s gone….’
