Sam, who joined the Force in 2003, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017.
Branch secretary Tim Rogers said: “Sam was an amazing and genuine lady."

West Midlands Police Federation today remembers PC Deborah Harman-Burton on the anniversary of her death.
Deborah, 28, died in a road accident on the A452 Birmingham Road between Balsall Common and Kenilworth as she travelled home from night duty on 24 March 2006.

PC Gavin Carlton was killed while on duty on this day in 1988.
Gavin was 29-years-old when, on 19 December, his car crashed as he was pursuing two armed robbers who then shot him at point blank range.

West Midlands Police Federation has remembered fallen colleague DC Mick Swindells who was stabbed to death 19 years ago today.
Mick was killed on 21 May 2004 in Birmingham as he attempted to arrest an offender who had earlier threatened members of the public.

It is now 40 years since the Force mourned the loss of PC Andrew Le Comte.
Andrew was only 21 when he died in a fall from the roof of the Grandfare Store in High Street, Erdington where he had disturbed two men after hearing noises while on duty on 4 February 1984.

Branch chair Jon Nott has paid tribute to PC Musa Muhammed who passed away suddenly overnight.
PC Muhammed (47) leaves a wife and young children.
“We are all deeply saddened by the sudden and unexpected loss of PC Muhammed,” says Jon.

PC Le Comte was just 21-years-old when he died after falling from a roof while searching for suspects on the night of 4 February 1984.

Joe (48) died on 14 November 1982 after being hit by a car while directing traffic in a road race.
He had been a police officer for 20 years, spending much of his career in Coventry.

PC Paul Worth was 34 when he died on 30 April 1981.
🗣 “I made it,” said Chris Johnson, the former Assistant Chief Constable of West Midlands Police who is living with a terminal illness, after receiving a special invite to attend the opening ceremony at this year’s Commonwealth Games.

Jonathan, who was 39, was a self-defence instructor. He joined the Force in 1998.
He collapsed and died of heart failure on 12 March 2007 after an officer safety course.

Marc, who spent much of his service working in Coventry, died unexpectedly on 5 April. He was 44.
The funeral will take place at 3.30pm at Oakley Wood Crematorium.

Douglas Stewart reached the age of 103 on 28 July, 75 years after he joined Birmingham City Police.

Malcolm was killed on 4 October 2001 when his motorcycle was deliberately rammed as he tried to stop a stolen car that had driven through a red light.
