If HKU upholds freedom of speech then it is notable that the video of my High Table Dinner Speech "Freedom and the Future of China" at HKU Chi Sun College on 30-Oct-2018 has been taken down, along with all other such speeches. Anyway, the text is here:
David Webb said his proposal for a public transparency project was rejected by the University of Hong Kong. HKU's response to @AFP: "(HKU) is an institution dedicated to academic excellence, we will continue to uphold academic freedom and the freedom of thought and speech."

Of course, if tariffs were high enough to bring shoemakers onshore then the price of sneakers in USA would massively increase but hey, that's what people voted for, right? Trump could divert so much labour from more productive jobs to shoemaking. What's not to like?

@ProfBrianCox Yes, there’s already been a rehearsal with NASA DART. Although any impact is statistically unlikely to be in a populated area, it would be on scale of Tunguska Event (3-50 Megatons) so a hit on London or NYC would demolish the city. Can’t take that risk.

Housing Authority launches pathetic HK$3k whistleblower award for reporting abuse of public housing. $3k is about 3 days of median household income. Not worth the hassle. Do it properly or not at all.
