Five years ago today Britain regained its freedom as it left the European Union but Brexit means nothing if you don't have a government that truly believes in it. Britain will never truly succeed until our ruling class finally share the pride and self-confidence of the people.

@SandyofSuffolk I love this country , I still do, yes it’s not perfect but it is still beautiThis weekend we saw the sunrise on the exquisite Derby Dales as we were out early to visit a car museum to drive vintage cars. We toured a distillery before enjoying a pub lunch. This country is great

@danielcflynn52 It’s baffling isn’t it, the Tates are the very last thing I would consider to be strong masculine role models. In fact the polar opposite. I would rather men who treat women with respect , raise kids who understand right from wrong, treat people with dignity.

I despair for our country sometimes, how we have managed to give a voice and even a smidgen of credibility to characters like lawrence fox and his like is quite beyond me.
When James Bulger was murdered and the Dunblane massacre took place, NOBODY would've even dreamt of exploiting it to try and bring down John Major. We were a better country. A decent country. Not somewhere grifters, racists and fascists could profit from the murders of children.
