Battletech to me started as enjoying giant robots and space ships, and ended with existential dread reflecting on a possible future where generals and government leaders would decide to wipe out hundreds of billions of people with atomic, chemical and biological weapons to stop their opponents productive capability.

@SCShipyards Posting this as a potential solution, knowing full well you might use it to hit me in the head.

@SCShipyards I feel these people are the same ones that end up in abusive relationships, get beaten up repeatedly and keep thinking "I can fix them"

@SCShipyards I'm asking, I seriously don't know the answer. Why are there no airships, a mix of modern day cargo aircraft and zeppelins? As far the little I understand is that the main cost of transporting cargo is fuel, and I'd imagine a plane that is lighter would use less fuel.

Civilization, and most of games similar to that, have gone downhill over the years. They have less and less content, with A.I. performing worse and worse each sequel, U.I. gets worse, U.I. functions get removed But they look pretty, Age of Wonders and Galactic Civilizations are the same shit, Age of Wonders 4 is absurdly bad, to the point there is no borderline difference between races, you can have halfling berserkers that deal as much damage as ogres and giants, and all ranged units regardless of the kind of ranged attack have the same range and deal the same damage. Galactic civilization you need to micro-manage, because the automation system disregards every single selection you make about which resource to prioritize, and also they build unique buildings, that can't be demolished or moved, on the worst possible position and worst possible planets. Endless space 2 is so bad you need dozens of mods to make the game playable, but wait, the developers make mod contests to incentivize people to fix their game so they don't need to, but wait again! At the same time with every release they break every single fucking mod the game has. Jagged Alliance 3? The game where you kill 7 enemies fighting you with rifles and submachineguns, and the entire loot you get is... an aspirin. RTS games are on the same boat, Northgard found a very 'creative' way to justify people not complaining about poor A.I. you need to make your own, no, seriously, in order for a map you create to work, you need to script your own A.I. otherwise the opponent won't do anything. Do I even need to mention Homeworld 3? Yeah...

@Pirat_Nation The first game also had very poor gameplay. The lore was amazing, visuals were amazing, but the gameplay... ugh
