Also make sure any garden ponds have sloping sides/steps/ramps to allow hedgehogs to escape if they enter the water.
Hedgehog numbers have declined by 30% in the last 10 years. Help them by creating ‘hedgehog highways’. Hedgehogs travel up to two miles every night, in search of food & a mate – so holes in the bases of fences & walls give them room to roam! More ideas:
