If you're not familiar, the "well" is doing most of the work in this sentence. It also takes at least as long to say as the rest of the expression.
"Wellllllllll, let me let you go."
Your Paw Paw may speak only the long "well." The rest is implied and your conversation is over.
Chris Wallace would not have gotten the interview with Trump if he didn't work at Fox.
Conservatives would never have seen the interview if it didn't air on Fox.
The journalists at Fox have one of the most crucial jobs in news media.

When I saw people getting dragged for using the human tragedy of 9/11 as an origin story for their dumb tech ventures, I knew there had to be a better way. A place where tone deaf bros could be celebrated & grift to their heart's content.
That's why I created LinkedIn...
Two of the most prominent Southern Baptist voices. One is constantly fighting off attempts to oust him from the convention. The other is Jerry Falwell Jr.
A poorly written law designed to keep children from getting porn via schools and libraries (??) just led to Mississippi children losing access to e-books.
Knight/Gallup found 79% of Americans don't expect a winner of the presidential election to be named tonight.
The other 21% account for 99% of your social media feed right now.
Here I am on a Friday afternoon about to lose all my progressive followers again... but it's time we stop pretending the Obama administration was some beacon of press freedom 1/
Please be careful sharing images or videos purporting to be the Iranian missile attack. There are lots of bad actors out there who would like to see panic spread. Give reputable journalists time to collect the facts and report.
How did Trump fail to fill an arena in an ultra-red state?
Only 45% of his supporters think rallies are a good idea. Just 23% have an unfavorable opinion of wearing masks.

When social media, especially something like Parler, creates insulated bubbles, people forget the rest of us can still see. Thanks for investigating and bringing this to light.
I don't care about Trump wrongly believing he had the most-watched
#SOTU
ever.
But I am curious where he gets it from & if aides are reassuring him with false info about items of actual importance.
Today has been full of terrible optics for Republicans, but Dems using their entire time to congratulate Ford instead of asking her anything doesn't do much to correct the perception everyone in the room has already made up their minds and this is just theatre.

Obama used the Espionage Act more than all other presidents combined. And he used it twice to directly target journalists. One of those was a Fox News reporter who was labeled a "co-conspirator" 2/
1. Trump does thing that upsets his base
2. Base revolts
3. Media reports base revolts
4. Trump & base join in calling the reports "fake news!"
5. The libs are owned
6. The base returns, despite Trump not addressing the thing that upset them
7. Rinse and repeat
I know to many this is just the latest hypocrisy. But please understand there are many, many young Christians who can't wait until charlatans like Falwell no longer represent us, and to free our church from the political gamesmanship that takes a baseball bat to the gospel.

The Onion has filled its homepage with all the times "‘No Way To Prevent This,’ Says Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens" has run in the past 8 years
Obama never called Fox News the "enemy of the people," but he did publicly disparage them, and his administration tried to deny them access to the press pool until rival journalists pushed back 4/
Trump's rhetoric is toxic and dangerous, no doubt. His influence (so far) is mostly public facing. Obama wasn't saying things that threatened freedom of the press, but he was absolutely doing them.

Almost like "no quarter" has a different meaning when you're making political metaphors instead of talking about literal military action against civilians.
A TV-era media theory is playing out on social media, and violence is once again the driving force. Appreciate

Just four years ago you asked, "Is it worth destroying our moral credibility to support someone who is beneath the baseline level of human decency for anyone who should deserve our vote?"
You've answered yourself with an emphatic "yes."

College professor in the Bible Belt, and I see this too. Young Christians who embrace diversity, justice, dig into the Word, *serve*... and could not feel less at home in our churches. Praying for the revival that welcomes and empowers them.
The people calling the Farrow/Mayer article a liberal media hit-job on Kavanaugh because the accuser was drinking, has gaps in memory; other sources say Kavanaugh wasn't there...
You know all of that BECAUSE THEY INCLUDED IT (prominently!) IN THE ARTICLE
@prof_nch
The people who publish non-stop aren't smarter or better. They have positions that give them more time to go through that ridiculous process, or have sacrificed tons from other aspects of life.
It's okay to not do that.
Just one metric on one platform, but
@NBCNews
' correction tweet got a quarter of the RTs of the original incorrect report.
There's no substitute for getting it right the first time.
You could see the damaging witness of politics over Christ coming in 2016. Here's what I wrote then, again featuring Russell Moore as a prominent contrarian voice:
Press pool access came up again a few months ago, when the Trump admin barred CNN's Kaitlan Collins. Fox's Bret Baier defended her, and reminded us of when CNN defended Fox against Obama 5/
When President Obama’s administration left us out of round robin interviews — CNN and
@jaketapper
spoke out for us. As a member of the WH press pool - on the news side - that’s what is supposed to happen.
Keith and I have been watching the biography series on WWE Legends (A&E) & I can’t look away. This all started when we happened on a match a few weeks ago. I have so many questions. Booker T apparently lives in Houston & I’m gonna need to take him to lunch for a Q&A.
Reporting on our elected senators subverting an election must immediately correct the implication that fraud has been alleged but not investigated.
Republican governors & secs of state have overseen audits. Conservative courts have heard legal challenges. They've found nothing.

The villain in Black Panther is the most noble person in the whole first half of the movie.
Uh oh, too complex. Better name him *Killmonger* and get on to the senseless murdering.
The new Mississippi law also bans materials that "describe OR promote [...] child sexual exploitation." That language means even content designed to educate children about the dangers of exploitation would be banned from schools and libraries.
Trump: When you do testing to that extent, you’re going to find more people. You’re going to find more cases. So I said to my people slow the testing down please.

I teach media literacy. But if you're not a journalism student, you never get exposed to it. It's a curricular failure. Media literacy is a core skill and needs to be taught like one.
A LaPlace resident is calling in to

The Fox journalists defiantly claiming they don't work for Trump may want to think about why the president would see it that way, and have similarly blunt words for the hosts that are creating that impression every single day.
Mississippi teachers have achieved an incredible turnaround in children's literacy over the past decade, rising from 49th to 21st in the U.S. Now lawmakers have taken away their books to score points in a culture war straight out of the fiction section.
Sometimes it's important to remember that the majority of the country wants to & is being vaccinated, despite the charlatans who will happily trade your life for more attention.

It's simple: If blaming cancelations on weather absolves airlines of any responsibility, then airlines can't be the ones who get to decide if a cancelation is caused by weather.

1. A publisher not wanting to associate with you has nothing to do with the First Amendment. You are a constitutional lawyer; you know this.
2. You probably shouldn't point fingers at a "mob" after what you incited yesterday
Last week, Pornhub blocked access to Mississippi IPs rather than comply with the state's new age verification law. Iffy, but okay.
Now, e-book databases are leaving the state because they have no idea how to comply with a vague law. Absolutely not okay.

"When I said I want to start a war, I didn't mean a war-war. You know how people say football is like war sometimes? I meant it exactly like that. I just named specific military units to carry out the not-war. Relax."
So, let me take this in a different direction... what can we do to boost trust in media among the strongest of anti-media partisans? Is there a way to stop the spiral?
The less-noticed 2nd law is a disaster. It forbids Mississippi schools & libraries to offer minors online resources that contain "Inappropriate materials depicting or dealing with matters of sex, cruelty and violence in a manner likely to be injurious or harmful to a child."
