@MzwaneleManyi Mhlekazi, you should go to Goma, DRC. It seems the SANDF needs backup there🙈🤷🏿

@mbalis_bakery The second edict (on the left) still applies in many cases; hence the veil of secrecy (euphemistically dubbed “confidential information”)

Donning robes in South African courts is a colonial anachronism which ought to be weeded out. Even the UK Supreme Court (formerly House of Lords) judges no longer robe and neither do counsel. If the people from whom we inherited this stuff no longer do it, why should we🤷🏿

@GodPenuel @ZungulaVuyo For the same (or similar) reason people on X “like”, “repost” and comment on the most puerile/brain-dead content on X than on informative and educational content. Junk (for the brain) appeals. Healthy content doesn’t. That should tell you the calibre of people we are🤷🏿

Apart from general elections at 5 year intervals (at which you don’t even vote for your preferred individual to be president), what in your view qualifies South Africa as a Democracy?

@WietsJBuys Quibble with the Constitutional Court. It has answered these questions in at least 5 judgments🤷🏿 And they’re not “race laws”. They’re remedial measures or restitutionary measures

Not sure if it can be said to be a contributing factor to “persistent poverty, inequality and high unemployment” but I’m particularly concerned about declining standards in the courts, particularly the high court (I can’t comment on the lower courts as I don’t practise there)

@Nhlakaniph80651 Other than that I prefer it that way, I’ve learnt the average attention span of a South African is no more than 12min at the best of times.

My first question in crossing @kalliekriel of @afriforum in a treason trial: “Either you suffer from the Stockholm Syndrome or you’ve committed treason. Which one is it?”🤷🏿 Then we can get into the nuances of what each of these entail🤷🏿

This @afriforum has a condition. It’s called the Stockholm Syndrome🤷🏿 Except that the alleged “injustice” is in their depraved imagination. Sadly, they’ve successfully set the agenda & now we’re busy discussing a non-issue instead of focusing on matters that matter to us🤷🏿

.@realDonaldTrump's executive order re the position of Afrikaners in South Africa: AfriForum, as the largest civil rights organisastion in South Africa, expressed its great appreciation for President Trump and the US’s recognition of the injustice to which Afrikaners are subjected in South Africa. The executive order is a direct result of President Cyril Ramaphosa and his government’s irresponsible actions and policies such as the Expropriation Act that threatens property rights, the Bela Act that is aimed at destroying Afrikaans schools and the SA government's anti-western foreign policy. AfriForum remains committed to Afrikaners’ future at the southern tip of Africa and insist that urgent solutions must therefore be found for the injustices committed by the South African government against Afrikaners and other cultural communities in the country. AfriForum is loyal to the people of SA and will thus continue to fight against the disloyal ANC's policies that harm the interest of all South Africans. @elonmusk

@statedeptspox Jeepers Creepers! How does one even begin to engage civilly with this fact-free account by an obviously clueless individual who seems to to believe her own ignorant take on another country’s historical affairs of which she knows zilch. Arrogance of perceived power🤷🏿

@SpokespersonRSA @kalliekriel Rubbish. The @NPA_Prosecutes must do its job. Klaar. But then it hasn’t done its job on the president Ramaphosa. Nonetheless, dereliction of duty in one case does not a justification ground make in another🤷🏿
