This is the saddest news ever. Dr. Burawoy was such an inspiration to so many. I saw him not too long ago in Florida. He was up in years but motivated and energetic as he spoke at a rally on labor. This is a misreading of the situation. He supports increased dollars to public education, including to Edgewood schools. The issue is with members of the Republican Party who want to starve public education to pave the way to vouchers that will impoverish public ed even more.
