actually, asperger DID put them as personality disordered. “autistic psychopathy” was the original name, and in the 1940s psychopathy was a broad term for personality disorders (not schizophrenia, as many believe)!
They’d also fit better under the personality disorder spectrum than the autism spectrum. Apparently Asperger didn’t research them well enough.
