Yesterday I attended @StanfordMedβs Health Equity Symposium π©Ί I met the amazing @uche_blackstock and learned from @RushMedicalβs CEO, Omar Lateef, that health equity is possible, it is just expensive! May we in medicine remember and remind others of this attainability ππ»

@AXP1x1 @StanfordMed Most importantly, I donβt judge ppl based on their background I deserve to be at Stanford, I will do everything I can to change this racist/worn-out myth. I am smart, hardworking & qualified. And I am going to be a doctor I pray that Jesus softens your cruel & hateful heart ππ»

@AXP1x1 @StanfordMed I have white skin & I put white on all my questionnaires b/c race & ethnicity are 2 diff things. Iβm a white Latina. π©π»ββοΈ I never once said white students are the most advantaged. I said wealthy students. My class is 50%+ Asian and only 10% Latinx - wake up to the actual stats.

@AXP1x1 @StanfordMed This is a harmful myth - it is actually the COMPLETE opposite Admissions favors students whose parents are wealthy (can study for the MCAT full time, network) - this is typically not students of color Comment from your real account and weβll have a truly enlightening discussion

Happy National Latino/a Physician Day! How can we provide culturally/linguistically competent care to the 40% of Latinos in CA, the 25% of Latinos around #stanford , and 18% of Latinos nationally? We need more than 6% of physicians to be Latino/o! #NationalLatinoPhysicianDay
