Hey, nice to meet you, I'm Ben 😊 I'm a vegan recipe blogger (my speciality is cakes!) and I'm trying to get the hang of Twitter! 😁 I'd love to find some vegans and vegan bloggers to follow so I'm going to try a #writerslift to see what happens 🥦🧁🍍🍰🍉🥗🥮💚 #veganhour

@shmunkkk Garlic in vinegar makes food taste like vinegar. Garlic in oil in a tube is not bad though, I mean it tastes enough like garlic and doesn't add any other unwanted flavours.

This is why claims of more sustainable dairy shouldn't be used to promote it for the environment. It's never going to get anywhere close to plant alternatives. Sucking a bit less for the planet isn't the same as being sustainable
The environmental impact of #dairy is huge. This from ‘Our World in Data' at Oxford University. Replace dairy with #Vegan / #PlantBased milks 🌱 #ClimateCrisis #ClimateChange #ClimateEmergency

The idea of higher welfare is one of the most harmful things that happened to animal rights IMO, and this tweet says a bit about why I don't buy in to it. I'm wondering where other people are on this topic? #vegan
@Megan62513427 @mmabets808 @romialien @poojavnair To genuinely know the truth about where an animal product came from is vastly harder than just reading ingredients and choosing vegan, yet people promote higher welfare to people who care less about animal issues than vegans. You're selling a harder option to people who care less

@TheWookieDavid @romialien @poojavnair What I needed here was a good analogy really. But yes, deforestation is often about a lot more than wood

@justdave89now Pfizer gives me zero effects, moderna gives me mild aches and tired for a day or so. There's this bizarre trend to blame everything on vaccines lately. Used to work with someone who developed headaches one day and just became convinced vaccines she had years ago caused them!

@Megan62513427 @romialien @poojavnair I can relate to being the vegan in a non vegan family. Serving children vegan food isn't forcing them however. Children simply eat what their parents choose, I don't see how vegan or not vegan could be determined as more, or less, forced on children.

@Megan62513427 @romialien @poojavnair I don't buy or cook meat for my non vegan family, and I don't see this as forcing them. They're free to say no to my offer to cook.

@sibaburck Well that's new. Got to give them credit there. Batshit, but at least we've broken away from crop kills and plants are sentient.

@Tory_Brexit69 @BladeoftheS I genuinely don't. The people I know who had to stop working didn't want to. Work is a place where many of us socialise, make friends, and let's face it make a lot more money than you'd get on benefits. There's plenty to miss.

@BladeoftheS Sadly, I have seen this too. Even after months of working competently and with only positive feedback somewhere I've had employers turn negative on me when they discovered I have little ability to write by hand (dyslexia), and that's in a role with no need to write stuff anyway!

@mmabets808 @romialien @poojavnair Your wife is a vegan? Or just a big tofu fan? Whatever the case, I have to agree on tofu, as long as it's cooked properly it's one of my favourite foods.

@tyrathetaurus I don't bring up the ethics of veganism at meals with non vegans, and I close it down if it comes up. It's not the place. However, non vegans try to start these conversations! I always wonder how they'd remember the conversation later if I went into where meat really comes from?

@BronzeAgeGoron @romialien @poojavnair The word vegan was created by the vegan society and the definition includes a lot about ethical reasons. If someone isn't interested in the ethics then they're doing something else.

@Oriharana0 @_Maha07_ @poojavnair Not sure where you are, but UK McDonald's have vegan options now. Anyway I'm sure you're not being taken hostage by vegans and forced to have dinner at their house. You sound like someone who could say no to an invite if you wanted to.

@mmabets808 @romialien @poojavnair I love stuffing, I make loads of it, shape it into balls and bake them. Depends what someone likes really, but it's definitely part of my usual vegan roast dinner 🌱

@ellescontrol @romialien @poojavnair We already have a word for people who don't eat meat, they're vegetarian. People using vegan to mean different things is quite recent I think, and vegans don't have to go with it.
