Oh no. It does happen every winter, though. It’s almost as if building it in a field which has flooded every year n living memory might have been a bad idea.
Even after over 23 years service, you come across things that you struggle to comprehend. Like yesterday when some great fast track work from the team identified a recently stolen caravan being towed by a vehicle on false plates, but then to find the driver was only 11 years old!

Environmentalist? Don’t make me laugh. How many times has she flown around the world when working? Didn’t feel so bad about the climate then 🤷♂️
This 1976 Citroen CX 2200 Pallas has a bit of a story. Bought new by a lady who drove it for 2 years, then left it in her garage for the next 37 years. The colour is called Vert Iroise 😎
These two next to me are googling how to put their tent up. There’s 20 minutes between these two pictures. I’m not sure if it’s going to end well. One hour until sunset. Still waiting for the row to start.
Wuppertal would be an unremarkable city - if not for the Schwebebahn, a 13.3 km suspension railway with 20 stations. Built in 1901, it runs along rivers and streets. I went from one end to the other and back. Naturally 😀
Yesterday was an unusual midwinter day, with a temperature of 16C ☀️ So naturally a 160 mile round trip to a brewery in Kent to stand around in a car park in a T shirt was in order 😀 Being first to arrive is always good for photo opportunities 👍 Also, spot the interloper 👀
The Lamborghini Miura is not only Marcello Gandini’s finest work, it is the most beautiful car of ALL TIME, and orange is the best colour. And if you don’t agree, I’m not even sorry, so there 🤣
OMG. I've agreed to buy a van with some home furnishings inside. Now in shock, but unexpectedly excited about the prospect of travelling home and abroad.

This is the woman who missed the start of the events because she had flown to LA for a birthday party. Don’t bring common sense and principles into it 😀

a rare 911 Turbo Martini, one of only a handful of cars built 1978-1979 with not only Martini stripes, but also a colour coded interior including Dr. Fuhrmann orthopaedic seats

A quiet and slightly wet evening at The Fairmile. Only about 10 cars showed which is the least I’ve ever seen there. Still an enjoyable evening though 👍
It’s 1986, and your latest cheap watch, in a long succession of cheap watches, has stopped working. Again! So off to Argos you go, to peruse their selection.of LCD watches.
I have only taken 2 pictures of the SL so far, for those asking. So this is your lot, for now, plus a couple of dealer pics. Once the new tyres are on, I’ll take some.
Looking forward to heading to the New Forest this morning for the Simply Porsche event at Beaulieu. This pic from a cold winter morning was 5,000 miles ago already 😀
Today I saw a Renault Fuego Turbo, and it occurs to me that I like them a lot more now than I did at the time. The first car with remote central locking, you know. And the “Plip” remote name wasn’t invented by a focus group. It was simply named after the inventor, Paul Lipschutz.
Today my mum would have been 84. Unfortunately she only made it to 36. This is her and me in the Mirabell Gardens in Salzburg a couple of years before she died 😢 Never forgotten.
This lovely Sunbeam Talbot Alpine Roadster I spotted in Gletsch at the foot of the Furka and Grimsel passes is one of 1582 hand built by London coachbuilders Thrupp & Maberley in 1953/1954. Perhaps 200 survive. One featured in To Catch A Thief with Cary Grant and Grace Kelly.
In the first picture of the showroom at Porsche Swindon: notice what looks like a full size overhead picture of a car on the wall above the doorway behind? Well, it’s not a picture. It’s an actual car 👍 Awesome 😀

I might be biased but I think the original pressed numberplates look much better than the modern plastic ones 👍
Skin cancer surgery postponed - yet again. It should have been done early November. But March will be ok, right? I mean it’s only steadily growing cancer. Forgive me if I don’t rush outside and bang my pans.
50 years ago today, a very excited small boy accompanied his dad to Filton to watch the first flight of G-BSST, Concorde 002. Me! There were big crowds outside the perimeter fence too, and when the wheels left the runway for the first time, a loud cheer was heard. Unforgettable!
My GT4 has a new owner today 😢 We’ve been chatting on Instagram and he seems very excited 😀 He’s driving it back to Newcastle, so it will be doing a different set of events now. The first one is tomorrow, being shown at Bellla Auto Show in Northumberland 👍
This is quite a machine, used for launching and recovering lifeboats. With the ability to pressurise the cabin, it can withstand being stuck on the sea bed under 30 feet of water, until it can be recovered. Normally it operates in up to 8 feet of water.
The cleanest 911 Turbo (930) I think I’ve ever seen, in the concours at the Yorkshire Porsche Festival. Even the oil pipes inside the wheel arches were polished 😀
This hasn’t steamed for many years and unfortunately won’t today, as I don’t have the solid hexamine fuel it burns. I retrieved it from my parents house early this year. Proper boys toys always had an element of risk!

Went out for a 15 mile loop to make sure that the battery was fully charged, but decided to do 75 miles instead, just for the fun of it. I was out so long I had to stop for a comfort break 😀
I found this rather fine AC 3000ME hiding at the top of Test Hill at the Brooklands 914 50th anniversary event. I can’t remember when I last saw one, and what a lovely thing it is 😍
