fanpage dedicated to everything based mainly around Punchline's Rule of Rose + PS2 horror games. W: might include themes not suitable for everyone.
Welcome to the Red Crayon Aristocrat Club, a Rule of Rose fan page. In here you find anything related around this old forgotten classic such as: Inside the files, history behind the game, archives, theories, curiosities, concept arts and fanmade works. I hope you will have fun!
Just to let you all know, the people behind these games get literally nothing if you buy them. That 500/1k euros/dollars you spent on was given to a random person who may have found such rarity in their house attic. So yeah, emulate them.
Piracy isn't okay. It's good see illegal sites like KimCartoons shut down. If you actually want to support these shows legally, go watch them on their official streaming service or live TV.
Honestly, I will never stop talking about the "tokophobia" (fear of pregnancy) themes storyline that was heavy present on many ps2 horror related games. Silent Hill 3, Rule of Rose, Haunting Ground... they perfectly managed to show how scary is to lose autonomy of your own body.
24 years ago today, on 6th of October, 2000, American Mcgee’s Alice released for the PC by Rogue Entertainment and EA. One of the most recognizable horror adaptation of a fairytale. A story of "madness", loss and trauma. Not forgetting it amazing art direction. Happy Anniversary!
Saw a tweet about realism in videogames and ngl... i wish there is more love around the "cleary going on a realism direction but even so, its heavy on a stylish area" kinda games. Idk how to describe it but... the ps2 era while definitelly tried to be "real", had lots of "style".
Everyone is talking about Silent Hill 2 which is understandable, simply I'm here to remember the game we should be thankful for having made survival horror games as we know it today will return on October as well! Seriously, give a giant support to Clock Tower Rewind!
Ill say Haunting Ground. This game literally had the best hide and seek mechanic of any survival horror game from that time. It definitely deserves a comeback (remaster, port, remake or entirely a new chapter. You decide).
HUGE: Capcom wants to continue to bring back many of their IPs as they dead with Dead Rising franchise remaster🚀
What legacy Capcom IP do you want to be brought back again?😎

I geniully cannot stop talking about the womanhood stories the Playstation 2 horror bringed into the table. These titles were just not "horror with girl", but entire stories of how hard life can be for many of us. An indepth view of fears, struggles and what means being a woman.
First Fatal Frame, then Silent Hill and now Clock Tower... seriously hoping Rule of Rose will come back and have their time to shine as well... ill wait for that day.

Rule of Rose & Alice Madness Returns:
-Set in England;
-19 yrs old orphan protagonist;
-the heroine only trustable friend is an animal;
-fairy tale ispired;
-tragic story about abuse and trauma toward children;
-"day dreaming" fights segments...
Two horror games masterpieces imo.
New silly challenge for people. Take your four fave characters and add them standing on the Weezer album cover. I'll include a Weezerless cover too for people
Looks like Sony has the PS2 emulator working on PS5, 3 games coming on June 11th:
- Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus!
- Tomb Raider Legend
- Star Wars: The Clone Wars
WHAT PS2 games do you wish to see come after? 👀✏️
I love when horror games boss battle happen to be characters who are actually good people in the story, and the reason you fight them is for allows the viewer to analyze their pain or anything else relevant to the story trought such rather than just "they are bad, so kill them."
Seeing "It looks like a PS2 game" as a way to insult new games that look "ugly" and realizing that people have forgotten what they actually looked like
19 years ago today, on 21 April 2005, Haunting Ground was released in Japan for the Playstation 2 by Capcom. A title recognized by many as one of the best horror games with the "stalking" mechanic, giving us some truly iconic villains. Happy anniversary!

Something I feel many new games don't realize is being the classic third camera is truly important for many aspects. Not only does give better direction, it truly helps to build the feeling of "exploring the unknown." No wonder many are nostalgic of the PlayStation 2 era.
The Mermaid Princess in Rule of Rose is, imo, the most heavy in narrative conceptualized monster from in any PS2 horror title. Why? This boss is literally a representation of a CSA survival victim, it design and level literally show to the viewer the pain Clara is going through.
If I had a nickel for every time a Playstation 2 game made a title about a lonely girl with only a dog as her best friend which is impossible to buy on modern time due it overpriced nature, I'd have two nickels. Which is not a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
I will never understand fans who "despise" this genre of talks in titles which deep analyses are, you know, heavily required to understand the series. Silent Hill, Rule of Rose and more old horror games had back then literal forums made just to focus on analyzing their content.
if you don’t like being a silent hill fan because of basic media analysis of a work designed to inspire interpretation and conversation then maybe play a different game that doesn’t do those things, like Paw Patrol Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay?
Silent Hill 3 is easily my choice. Heather's character and her story about the "unsettling" struggles of womanhood seriously touched and scared me on a personal level. I think we all can agree that she IS one of the best girl protagonists created for a horror game.
The weird objectification of Angela must be srs discussed. It's annoying how "fans" are criticizing the game over a character looks while, if you played it and focused on the story, you KNOW is an aspect you should not focus on. Wishing her to be "desirable" is missing her point.
the angela discourse is fucking jarring.
ppl call her ugly, fat, grotesque etc & when we say her design is fine their response is “how come victims can’t be sexy?”
when nobody even insinuated that?
she isn’t UGLY in any way. she has always looked like an ordinary young adult.
I need to talk about Haunting Ground. This game managed to do an amazing modern take on the "hide and seek" survival horror mechanic and given some truly challenging stalkers. Capcom made the best "Clock Tower" successor and literally forgot about it simply due did not sold well.
Looking at this, no wonder on why many people are returning back at play games (especially horror ones) from the playstation 2 era. Realism in games is not bad dont get me wrong, simply the fans geniully miss when there was a clear attention for "art direction".
