Super stoked to launch Taiko Tuesday — a weekly community-driven newsletter about
@taikoxyz
.
The newsletter is going to cover all the important development, community, ecosystem, and other updates.
But it's going to be so much more than that.
Vitalik is bullish on smart contract wallets, and so is
@taikoxyz
if you visit our eco page, you'll find two smart contract wallets:
@loopringorg
and
@soulwallet_eth
both offer social recovery, with Loopring being in the business for a few years and Soul Wallet launching soon
I might be wrong but I think
@taikoxyz
is the only ZK-EVM to test permissionless proving.
Yes, anon, you heard that right: You can run a prover on the recently-launched Taiko Askja testnet (and earn real rewards!).
Here are some details. 🧵

Career update: Today is my first day with the
@taikoxyz
team full-time.
I'll be mostly focusing on research and education efforts. Articles, threads, videos, spaces — anything that could help you better understand Taiko and its relationship to Ethereum.
1/ Hey hey heyyy, wasu wasu wasuup! It's Taiko Tuesdayyy time!
What a week! POAP news announced,
@taikoxyz
swag landed, presentations
@EthereumDenver
dropped — and more.
Oh, and I also talked with Taiko's new Researcher and Writer
@cryptobuilder_
.👀
🧵
Taiko Tuesday
#6
is out!
Last week was all about ETHDenver for
@taikoxyz
. Presentations, talks, networking — you name it.
But there was a lot more that happened last week. Find out about the latest dev, community, ecosystem, and other updates 👇
Hello, this is my second article for the Writers Cohort.
Simple answers to some common questions about
@taikoxyz
. Lemme know if things are clearer after reading the article.

It's Taiko Tuesday time!
A lot happened with
@taikoxyz
last week.
But the reason I want you to read this week's newsletter is that you'll find a fascinating conversation with Taiko's Developer Community Manager
@odesium
.
Here's what we talked about.
There are only a few people who've been in the Ethereum rollup space since the beginning.
@taikoxyz
co-founder
@finestonematt
is one of them.
In the first edition of Taiko Tuesday Special, I chatted with Matt about the Ethereum rollup evolution. 🧵

Taiko Tuesday is back — and in a new format!
From now on, find the latest updates on what's happening in the Taiko world on the Taiko community forum.
Read the 29th edition here: .
✨ introducing Gwyneth ✨
so pumped to finally reveal what we've been quietly working on at
@taikoxyz
!
Gwyneth is a new based rollup that's synchronously composable with Ethereum. we call it a booster rollup when composing with and extending the L1
booster rollups were
Taiko Tuesday Special is back!
In the 4th edition, I chatted with
@Brechtpd
,
@taikoxyz
's ZK magician.
We talked about ZK recursive proofs, the future ZKPs, etc.
Brecht also revealed who's responsible for those Hello Kitties you see in Taiko's diagrams. 😏
Some quotes. 🧵

@jonwu_
Mostly agreed!
I also think that doing a fair airdrop is basically a user retention strategy. Not all airdrop farmers are evil and I'm sure some people grow out of it and start contributing in more meaningful ways if they feel rewarded and welcomed
It's Taiko Tuesday time!
In the second edition of the newsletter, you'll find development, community, ecosystem, and other updates.
Check it out now, there's been a lot happening with
@taikoxyz
lately!
I legit think that
@taikoxyz
is at the top of the game when it comes to our tech stack:
- Ethereum-equivalent ZK-EVM;
- based sequencing;
- contestable rollups;
- booster rollups.
On top of that, it's gonna be permissionless to run a node, proposer, and prover
Taiko has had 5 testnest so far, and with each of them, we tested a variety of different proposing/proving mechanisms, L3s, and other stuff. All in the open, all permissionless.
This is what we mean when we say we're building with the community, for the community.
Governance is such an important but underappreciated topic in crypto
At Taiko, we’re in the process of building out our v1 governance structure
Can’t say anything now obvs but it’s going to be something new and exciting for sure
I swear,
@taikoxyz
has one of the most sophisticated communities in the industry.
Yes, it's still relatively small, but the core is extremely strong. People help each other, run nodes/proposers/provers together, and collaborate on a daily basis.
Can't get more bullish than this
There are 82 projects deployed on Taiko rn + future grantees + many more in the pipeline + mainnet soon + it's permissionless to deploy
The Taiko ecosystem is growing fast 🔥
@tkstanczak
Taiko's upcoming A6 testnet is going to support 4844 but it's going to be turned off. We'll probably enable it once it's live on Holesky. And for mainnet, the current plan is to launch with 4844 live already
i've met far too many people recently who are either depressed, burnt out, or just disillusioned by this space
i think this is a huge drag to the industry. yes we take pride in grinding our way to success but if the price of success is mental illness, that's not the way to go
We're happy to announce that we've taken the Protocol Guild Pledge (PGP) and committed 1% of our token supply to
@ProtocolGuild
to support their continued development of Ethereum.
We're proud to be the first L2 to take the PGP and do our part to help set a new standard.
1/
it's been less than two weeks since the start of the summer but we've already seen:
-
@taikoxyz
launch the first based rollup with permissionless proposing and proving
-
@Optimism
launch permissionless fault proofs
L2s are shipping 💪
exciting stuff!
taiko is now based: block proposing is permissionless and done by ethereum validators and block builders
proving is also permissionless

are there any good community managers out there?
we're looking for two community people at
@taikoxyz
:
- excellent communicators
- know how to engage community
- has experience with partner relations
dm or apply directly
please help spread this 🙏
We haven't even launched Taiko on mainnet yet but you can already join as a builder and work alongside the team via our community grant program.
ZKPs, proof markets, NFTs, games, education — choose whatever you're interested in and apply. 2 weeks left!
I wanted to say a few words about contributing to crypto projects, specifically
@taikoxyz
.
There's a common misconception that "contributing" in crypto means that you only write code. That's not true.
Here are some non-technical ways you can contribute to Taiko. 🧵
1/
I do believe that blockchains are first and foremost social tech.
And I do believe that
@VitalikButerin
, thanks to his charisma, is the reason Ethereum feels like home to you and me.

yes ethereum has its problems, just like any other blockchain ever in existence
but to think that it's going away anytime soon is ludicrous
ethereum is here to stay and we're here to scale it
6.
@loopringorg
Loopring is the first validity rollup ever to be deployed on Ethereum mainnet.
Yesterday, the team announced that Loopring has been deployed as an L3 on top of Taiko.
7/
We are excited to share Loopring L3 is now officially live on
@taikoxyz
alpha-3 zkEVM testnet 💙🥁
This marks the beginning of our L3 journey towards achieving greater scalability & highly optimized experiences tailored for our smart wallet and decentralized applications
🧵/👇
congrats to
@system32eth
for proposing the first block on taiko!
still a long way to go before we have a sufficient number of proposers but this was an important first step towards decentralizing the network
congrats again!
a friendly reminder to all the researchooors and curious people out there:
based rollups aren't just a theory anymore —
@taikoxyz
is on mainnet and is doing pretty good
+ there are quite a few ones that are in the works and are launching soon
1/5 Snæfellsjökull has erupted!
@taikoxyz
's first public testnet has been up and running for 2 weeks now and has seen pretty incredible activity.
Let's take a quick look at the numbers.
When you run a Taiko node, you actually run a minimally modified Geth node.
How minimally? Only-72-out-of-2032-lines-of-code-removed minimally.
Or, in other words, the Taiko node is 96.45669% identical to Geth.
Bullish on Ethereum equivalence. 💪
If you were ever wondering what "decentralized", "open-source", and "transparent" meant, look no further than Taiko and these bi-weekly changelogs.
"Had the first mod call" is next-level transparency 😎
Here you can see an average
@taikoxyz
community member who:
- Runs a node;
- Proves/proposes blocks;
- Experiments with L3s;
- Prepares for Taiko on mainnet to start proposing/proving and earning juicy fees right from the get-go.
All on a daily basis and all permissionlessly.😏

Taiko is leading the charge in the rollup ecosystem through their base and booster rollups. Why does Taiko stand out?
i once wanted to be an anthropologist but i didn't have any specific group of people in mind to study
i now have: crypto communities
super interesting to research and observe, and community building is legit one of the hardest skills to acquire and maintain
While the job title is new, I've felt part of the team ever since I joined as an Ambassador in January.
Consistent communication, strong support every step of the way, and openness to ideas. This is what makes Taiko special, and this is what made me want to join full-time.
Taiko is:
- Based
- Boosted
- Permissionless
- Decentralized
- Ethereum-equivalent ZK-EVM
- Open-source
- Multi-proof
- Secure
- Open to everyone

I actually think it's kind of funny that to deploy on
@taikoxyz
you just need to copy-paste your code and that's it.
Such a non-issue that no one's even talking about it lol
I think extremely it's important — and beautiful — to fund community builders early on in your project's lifetime.
At Taiko, we've already provided grants to 15 builders and are currently reviewing hundreds of proposals for Taiko Grants Cycle 2, for which we've allocated $30M.
the crazy genius
@eawosikaa
likes to talk about how ethereum needs better marketing/narrative/lore, and i agree with some of his points
however, i think the crypto industry itself has huge trust/legitimacy/narrative issues that are going to take years and years to solve

When it comes to community advocacy,
@arixoneth

@Junger0x
are first-class. Curious, polite, creative educators, and, most importantly, good people.
Happy to have you guys represent Taiko 🫶
