A massive thanks to everyone that supported our recent charity sheepdog trials in aid of Crumlin Children’s Hospital, and to Stephen Lott & Ger Egan for organising it. Also a special thanks to Paddy Fanning ( for capturing the day.

This field has been busy this year, huge congratulations to Ger & Stephen for hosting the charity sheepdog trial today for @CMRF_Crumlin, a super day, although a little 🥵 for man and dog, & @Kerry_Official rounded off the day too 😂

Second cut under the knife today, a few less machines this time around @Farmhandltd 😅 this field was cut 40 days ago and has received 38m3 cattle slurry (LESS) on May 23

@ucd_forestry But the tree seems to have recovered quite well all the same, we hope 🤞I was a bit surprised that the calves took to what is a reasonably big tree 🌳, live and learn

@ucd_forestry You can see from the picture unfortunately yes, calves in that paddock last year took what seems to be just the outer layer. We wrapped in sacking to protect and all seems to have gone well since, I must remove the cable ties later today 👍

Grass, grass & grass - my favourite picture of the first cut - red clover silage with no chemical N this year - 2 applications of slurry (LESS) and grazed by sheep till end of Feb - thanks to Adrian for the picture

Great day today @ucdlyonsfarm 👍to @meb_spiky for the photos - @acoevans bench was a big hit 😇 fair play to all, especially the younger participants for getting to the top - Sharon I hope our young🕵🏻♂️ found all the clues - and our neighbours ✈️ was a highlight - great day
