The lightning in Mercer County was absolutely incredible. A couple of these are some of the best and wildest lightning I've ever caught. This is why Anvil Crawler/Spider Lightning is my favorite type! #kywx

Here is the NWS Snowfall Forecast and the Probability of 4 Inches of Snow or more for the System Monday Night into Tuesday. Better odds for a Winter Storm look to be for Northeastern KY and parts of the Bluegrass Region for now. #kywx

The map I've made last night still looks good today. RDPS did trend a little cooler, but I don't think models won't be done shifting around. Another thing to think about is that we are in a La Nina Pattern which models like to trend North the last minute in La Nina Patterns #kywx

@I65WxSils Yeah. A couple degrees can also make for a big difference. For some places, this may very well be a Boom or Bust type of Scenario.

For now, the greatest potential looks to be from E-town through the Bluegrass Region into parts of E KY. This isn't a Slam Dunk that you'll see a Winter Storm, some places may not make it to 4 Inches but if there is a certain area that does have the best opportunity, it's there.

Numbers like that would lead to Creeks, Streams, and Rivers to run high from time to time. Instants of Flash Flooding will be on the table as well. Something to watch out for.

@I65WxSils HRRR has CAPE making it to 250 but not much of anything for SBCAPE. However, it was off by at least 500J/Kg on the last event.

@I65WxSils Yep, can get a rouge storm or 2 along the Front if more instability is realized.

Why I believe that the models will underestimate is because of the Strong Southerly Wind Flow + the amount of the clearing (something the models don't see.) Normally, we see models run a few degrees too cool in setups like these + in some cases translates to CAPE being higher.
