Today my respects were paid with many others at the funeral in Bassaleg, Newport of Mr Tony Hopkins, the

scout for South Wales and afar. A lovely gentleman respected by so and highlighted by the attendance and words read by Sir Alex Ferguson. Tony will be sadly missed.

Said it before … it’s about timing. If you jump/bounce to a set position YOU CAN NOT MOVE, Until you’re feet are on the ground.! GK 6 inches in the air on contact from header then the ball is 6 yards closer to goal before the GK can move laterally. Just saying.!

I must have seen at least 10 goals in the tournament conceded by a gk who still remains off the floor as the ball is traveling to the goal..!!! Their habit and therefore ‘wrong timing’ of the ‘jump/hop’ limits the success rate of any dive & save 👀 🧤
