@sectionprocess Save the stupid invective. I quoted one of Israel's finest hawkish generals (retired) as calling it ethnic cleansing. Try reading the Israeli press for a while to see the debate over this. What Arab states have done in the past doesn't justify Israel doing it in the present.

@Debra727lynn @generalkellogg Ukraine blowing up Orthodox churches??? It was Russia that put a missile right down the dome of the famous RUSSIAN Orthodox cathedral in Odesa. I was there and saw the wreckage and heard the bitterness at Moscow from Russian Orthodox priests.

@sectionprocess I quote one of Israel's most respected retired generals, Moshe Ya'alon, former Likudnik, who says Israel is conducting ethnic cleansing in Gaza. Is he a "vile bigot"? Key cabinet members openly call for driving Gazans out, as I quote. Wake up! This won't make Israel more secure.

@ukrainesvit @yarotrof USSR was dissolved. It was a federation, and Russia and Ukraine and Kazakstan declared independence from the federation. They were recognized worldwide in 1991. Russia has USSR's seat in UN (although it is questionable whether they deserve it). Ukraine has its own seat.

An Afghan deal that capitulated to the Taliban and forced Kabul to release 5000 hardened Taliban from prison - the beginning of their takeover. 2. The Abraham accords whose main goal was to get the Saudis to recognize Israel. Nada. Did I miss something?

@HughJainus45 @PhillyInquirer @FDD @joshua_landis And, oh yes, Trump did not say "that". He said that Syria was of no use to Putin. On the contrary, it was of critical use to Putin's efforts at global expansion. And Russia's withdrawal shows up Putin's glaring weaknesses, which Trump should exploit rather than propping Putin up.

@HughJainus45 @PhillyInquirer @FDD @joshua_landis Sadly, Trump's weekend statements make clear he is too ignorant about Russian and Syrian realities to understand how Assad's fall reveals that Putin is actually a weak loser. He had to pull out of Syria because his military has been decimated due to his aggression in Ukraine.
