I watched the Trump Team work this daily. The President was involved, so was the Vice-President, NSA, SecState, SecDef, CJCS-the whole National Security Team. Truly “one team, one fight”. There was a plan, it would have worked…because of hands on leadership from the top down.
We were working hard to put an orderly transition in place and to ensure the Afghans have peace & reconciliation. I met with the Taliban to deliver that. We had real American leadership, and I regret we’re not in that place today.

Two possibilities after numerous former Trump officials deny knowledge of prior overflights:
1.) The DOD is lying.
2.) These did happen and the information was withheld from 45 and senior admin officials.

Why Not. Come on Alyssa. You know better. Good start is for Harris to say she was wrong in VP debate in SLC when she denigrated Trump/Warp Speed efforts to move towards a vaccine. How much damage did her comments do to public confidence? Let’s begin there. Then move forward.

All a bit raw but there needs to be a complete review of defense/military decision making of past 20 years in Afghanistan. A lot of senior officers (read as 3 and 4 Stars) had it wrong. After 20 years, tragic loss of life, Billions of dollars spent.
