You have to allow yourself to win- many ppl struggling have become so conditioned to losing that when they start winning, they think something is wrong. In trading this leads to cutting winners too early. It’s a real thing and can be a hard cycle to break

What I’ve learned is that my risk can be tighter than I thought it could. I was delusional thinking that I need to give trades “more room”. Truth is I needed to be more disciplined. From there you can actually learn to trade bigger, and you need less points to make your day.

This imbalance lower wanted to happen yesterday. Instead sellers got straight torched on the open. Saw many people posting yesterday about how obvious it was that the open was a bear trap. Yeah… fuck you. Very few people worth listening to on here. Trust your gut.

I'm old but remember when the mere mention of QT/taper (w/ no action) resulted in the market shitting its pants -10% and the Fed quickly backtracking?
Fed has been doing actual QT for 18 mo. and assets generally are up 5-15% or more in that same timeframe.
We're in la-la land.

Not a DeChambeau fan but this is great advice. Confidence is everything- when you’re up, you have to believe that you can keep winning- that your performance is not a fluke. The moment you get scared is when you choke. There’s a trading analogy here if you’re paying attention
When Bryson DeChambeau was a junior, he used to play from the forward tees to help get himself in the mindset of going super low. He said it helped him shoot 58 today and it’s a great lesson for kids who get uncomfortable when they’re going deep.

I have a running notepad where I record mainly structural observations with dates, sessions (RTH/ETH), etc. I do not journal individual trades- tried it but found it to be of minimal benefit- conditions change and any conclusions that you drew about prior action become invalid

I have slipped into this mindset more than once in my journey. The only way to get out of this negative feedback loop is to start with getting small wins. I’d hit a few winning trades and then quit early for the day. Winning days turn into winning weeks, then months. Snowball

We have essentially been trading the same range for 5+ weeks now. Balance ---> imbalance.
Weekly Pivot = 4146
On alert for potential breakouts above 4180 / below 4110.
I lean 🐻 but will follow price.

For my style, I would say yes. But I’m not that great of a trader and I sometimes take more heat than I should. I know of traders that run very tight stops (5 pts NQ) and are successful. If your stops keep getting hit, the problem probably isn’t your stop, it’s your entry

Contract roll ➡️ Fade edges, look for mean reversion
Contract roll is a great time to fade edges as buyers/sellers look for opportunistic prices (highs/lows) to do business.
Idea for the day gets a grade A. Unfortunately execution was more like a C/D. Some days you have it and some days you don't.

Hardest progression imo is going from 2 to 3, especially if you’ve been at 1. The fear of continued losing can be paralyzing and will likely cause you to cut winners short

💯 Sample the market as many times as you can on minimal risk. If you get a position to stick, let it ride to target and let your edge play out. Taking profit too quickly negatively skews your R:R and forces you to have a much higher win rate to be profitable.
