We spent 4 years as team @enhtqi and I can honestly say I learned more about systems, improvement, leadership and what really matters in those 4 years than I did in any other role in 25 years in the NHS. It’s so long from us and me for now as I explore new beginnings ❤️

I read heartbreaking tweets like this repost @cull_anna and articles about the experience of NHS staff and wonder if the system that needs fixing is right down to the interpersonal relationships between all of us. Human to human #KindnessMatters

Definitely have a lot of experience of hearing this when people are tackling difficult issues. If you’re going to make difficult decisions and/or just tow the party line at least have the courage to own it or give somebody a plausible why!
"Managerial ventriloquism" is a common practice in the health & case sector. It's where leaders mention others (often those in higher authority) when they ask people to do things. Eg, "the Regional Office needs this by the close of play" or "the Director says we have to do this". Over time, a culture builds where: A) managers speak for others too frequently, undermining their own credibility & B) responsibility keeps being passed to someone else, with no one willing to take ownership of decisions.
