The Australian Government will now set our 2035 climate change target in the wake of the Trump victory. Of course the global political position must be considered. But we would be wise to remember that the US voters are changing the president, they are not changing the climate.

Australia needs to make the transition to net zero without threatening reliability or affordability. Unrealistic promises of lower power prices is unhelpful and even risks the transition.
