Honored, grateful & a bit overwhelmed to have received the 2024/25 Distinguished Scholar Award in International Ethics at
#ISA2024
. I'm very fortunate to be part of this supportive community of brilliant scholars who have made this career such a joy and privilege. Thank you! 🙏
When I began my PhD 5 weeks after my 1st son was born, some worried - declaring it impossible or irresponsible to do a PhD, or a mistake to have a baby. This week I proudly watched him graduate from the uni where I'm a prof. & school director. Past worriers: thanks, but we're ok!
I spent the day with my Japanese parents in Matsudo-shi. I lived with them as a 17-year-old exchange student, & again after studying Japanese for 4 years at university. They are in their 80s now - and I still call them 'Mum' and 'Dad' (in Japanese). Today was a very good day.💜
