Dont know if i agree. Days in milk is what drives production and pays the bills....cows calving in march will never catch up to those that calved early feb. You could stay milking later into the year but you still end up in the shed regardless

Cows calving mid January are peaking around now and are most likely in a shed today on silage and have probably had plenty of Silage in the diet the last month, unless silage is 80% dmd and 20% protein very hard to compare to the grass 1st February calvers will be getting at peak
