Daughter was in the queue at WHP last night. Woman in front of her was generally giving it large and going on about knowing “the headliner”.
She asked daughter who she was looking forward to seeing.
Daughter said Kerri Chandler.
“She’s great isn’t she” came the reply.
In St Anne’s Square eating my lunch & listening to a brass quartet. Johnny Marr appeared and stopped for a listen too. Then he went to the cash point just to draw money out to give them.
He is a nice man.

People have hands though, meaning we have options other than picking pups up by the scruff of their neck with our mouths.
30 years ago today I played at the Hacienda for the first time.
I had no clue what I was doing. I even thought DJs didn’t need to take headphones because the club provided them.
About to put on some proper clothes for the first time since mid-March to do this from midday. The least you can do is tune in at

Dad here, on his terrace in Umbria, getting ready to nip up to the village bar for the game.
What? No, I absolutely wouldn’t want to swap places with him.
If you’d told me 35 years ago I’d be warming up for the bloke who’d made the Beat Street album I was breaking (badly) to on the lino in my cellar I doubt I’d have believed you
@WHP_Mcr
So you go and DJ at a big gaff and it goes well and you start feeling yourself a bit but then you go in the other room and this bloke is doing this like he’s just checking his emails
When Damien Noonan ran the door at the Hacienda, he asked me to make him 90 minute tape that just had Mr Wendal by Arrested Development on it again & again & again. Didn’t argue.
Did a gig last night and played this. Got a bit transported by it. Forgot I was DJing for a minute and had to have a refocus. My mix into the next tune could’ve been better.

Leaving everything else on one side for one second (and only one second), imagine making Lil’ Mo Yin Yang and being remembered for making I Like To Move It.
When my son was being born it was Sunday night of Glastonbury and it was on for hours in delivery room as Amy was in labour.
Anyway there with her now and it’s his birthday tomorrow and I’m proper stoked for him (and his mum sister and stepdad).
Just played at the Love to Be festival in Harrogate and it went dead well and now I’m sat outside Hartshead Moor, just me and a massive KFC, and all is well with the world.

It’s not though is it.
Our taxes pay for all manner of things we don’t personally use, but we pay for them because most of us believe in the value of the common good.
I watch hardly any BBC but am happy to pay 43p a week to not sacrifice yet more of our culture to the market.
In Caffè Nero just now I picked up a woman’s bank card because she didn’t realise she’d dropped it. Her son who was about 5 then walked over and silently gave me a fist bump 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Look who's NOT a good boy.
In the park this morning we came across a man who'd fallen and needed medical assistance. While I called an ambulance, Bosco was dropping his ball on him to try to get him to play fetch.

Feel bad for those people who said Covid restrictions would never be lifted and we’d never get our “freedoms” back and it was all part of a sinister plan.
I mean, they did all that research and everything.

A 16-year-old boy who died at the Leeds Festival came from Worsley in Greater Manchester. He's been named as David Celino.
His family described him as "beautiful, fiercely independent and a warm character."
