It’s great to see that all the hard work of teacher across the country has impact. All the work being done to improve maths teaching by @NCETM and others seems to be having an impact.

It was great to be able to host #MathsConf35 and to work with @LaSalleEd. We hope everyone who was there had a great day and took lots of new ideas away with them.
📐 We were proud to host the recent #MathsConf35 at @BChampCollege. 📊 Attendees took part in 30 workshops, including '5 Ways to Leverage MWBs in Maths.' 🤝 It was a brilliant day and staff enjoyed networking and learning from colleagues around the country.

@petergates3 @ShakinthatChalk I would assume so, but I also know plenty of schools who charge a nominal fee to replace any wilfully damaged exercise books. Would the same thing work with pens?

@miss_mcinerney Obviously they don't think these things are currently included in the curriculum. Some teachers might disagree, in which case do we need to be better at signposting how things that may be across subjects address (some of) these areas already?

@KevanThompson2 @sputniksteve I wasn't taught how to hold a pen properly at primary school in the 80s. I learned very bad habits and have never been able to break them. Consequently, my handwriting has always been bad and I have to concentrate hard to make it legible.

@CarolSevern1 That's great. I'm sure you will have loads you want to do with your new department. My advice would be to pick a few high priority things and implement them properly.
