banana fish did this in several episodes but episode 8 (for me) was the most memorable— the feeling of being lost conveyed by the lyrics of first verse in the background of dawson’s mansion & study going up in flames just works too well
more shows need to do that thing where the ed song starts while the episode is still going and then the visuals kick in it's always really cool. gwitch is the obvious recent example and that one is pretty good but the way kyousougiga does it makes me want to cry it's so perfect.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but one of the few death tropes in fiction that irks me is when the excuse for killing off a character with no build up/proper send off is the "it's to show the brutality of the world they live in" excuse. Always comes off as lazy to me tbh
