The land was purchased by Gento Group and the process went through Parliamentary approval for a concession to develop a port. The Concession as approved is 90% owned by Gento Group and 10% by the government of Sierra Leone. The Group has completed its feasibility studies on the commercial viability of the port and they are now looking for financiers like shipping lines, Maritime Banks and port operators based on the fact that Banana Island has a depth of 22mt which will be deepest in the region. You said Govt is unable to raise $1.5B but where did Gento Group got 1.7B, Gento Group is yet to get that money, they are now looking for financiers and I’m sure when one is available they will make it known to the public.
