@Grummz FYI in Japan any commercial use of buildings, shrines, and temples without permission violates the rights of the private owners. An exception for massive buildings in public view exists but it's problematic if the focus of the art is the structure itself.

@dannypostmaa Massive token size (Gemini 2 Pro is 2M tokens...) + prompt caching (released by Claude last Aug) mean architectural approaches like RAG risk being outdated within months. Funny enough, I was messaged by a recruiter last year and asked if I had 3 years of RAG experience... 🤣

@jasonleowsg Claude's prompt caching reduces the number of use cases where RAG makes sense. That + large token windows = more efficient output.

OPENAI ROADMAP UPDATE FOR GPT-4.5 and GPT-5: We want to do a better job of sharing our intended roadmap, and a much better job simplifying our product offerings. We want AI to “just work” for you; we realize how complicated our model and product offerings have gotten. We hate the model picker as much as you do and want to return to magic unified intelligence. We will next ship GPT-4.5, the model we called Orion internally, as our last non-chain-of-thought model. After that, a top goal for us is to unify o-series models and GPT-series models by creating systems that can use all our tools, know when to think for a long time or not, and generally be useful for a very wide range of tasks. In both ChatGPT and our API, we will release GPT-5 as a system that integrates a lot of our technology, including o3. We will no longer ship o3 as a standalone model. The free tier of ChatGPT will get unlimited chat access to GPT-5 at the standard intelligence setting (!!), subject to abuse thresholds. Plus subscribers will be able to run GPT-5 at a higher level of intelligence, and Pro subscribers will be able to run GPT-5 at an even higher level of intelligence. These models will incorporate voice, canvas, search, deep research, and more.

@levelsio Try ciabattas. My wife bakes bread everyday and that’s been my favorite bread she’s made so far. A fresh baguette is a close second though.

@____dzc____ I did not know that! Thank you very much! Deep integration across Google products is pretty clutch. I built a very opinionated search ad tool and replacing other LLMs with Gemini simplifies it by at least 50%.

@ChilliDoor A one-page memo is nothing.
No one hires people for ideas. Ideas are worthless. You hire for execution and agency. A one page marketing memo on your first 90 days is one day of effort if you have the right experience. I’ve spent weeks preparing for interviews at Amazon, Meta and Indeed. I hired coaches and recorded myself. That resulted in $300k offers. The idea that you can talk about your resume - usually full of lies - and expect a job is so horribly broken. I’m actually happy with the results because filtering lazy people who want an easy gig and will take up more of my time, is the goal of the exercise.
