I’m all for removing govt waste & regulations. Lot of tech being built to do this. Fully support doge. I don’t have much time for I’m a prof and I’m shocked by the prices of real estate in a nice area. Many of us spent are 20s & 30s working around the clock (literally). Summers off? lol.

@profontheright that neighborhood is not gov’t employees (excluding apartment rentals). Most are working for tech and a few very large law firms that have their office in the area.

@devchef87 @AutismCapital There is a difference in the licenses. Llama has a custom license and there are restrictions. Deepseek code is an open source MiT license and the model is open rails license. I don’t trust the CCP, but Perplexity has done a nice job integrating on US servers.

This. “but…..Deepseek is open source.” How many normies are going to use Git LFS or Ollama to install a distilled version locally and set up a chat bot? answer: None. CCP does not care if TikTok gets banned. It’s got much better spyware to manage.

nothing to do with money and everything to do with staying engaged. Also, one size does not fit all. Some people might crush retirement. If you run a large business and have a triple type A personality, it’s not easy and a slippery slope. I love working and enjoying my family and will work till the end. ymmv. enjoy the ride…bud.

@BenRothenberg He played an exhibition at my club before the holidays and had a drink and talked w everyone after he played. He is a super nice guy and has great parents.
