Meet the Engaged Athlete Fellows! Today, we’re spotlighting Ella Shapiro, a standout leader on and off the field. Ella is partnering with Rise Up Soccer Club to run a free after-school program that empowers young girls through soccer. By providing accessible clinics, she’s helping them sharpen their technical skills while fostering teamwork, confidence, and leadership. This February The Team is celebrating Black History Month! Doug Williams shattered barriers as the first Black QB to win a Super Bowl. Decades later, Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes made history as the first Black quarterbacks to face off on the game’s biggest stage. Now, they’re set for a rematch in #SuperBowlLIX—continuing a legacy of leadership, resilience, and impact. Beyond football, their foundations—Jalen Hurts Foundation & 15 and the Mahomies Foundation—are changing lives through education, youth empowerment, and community support.
