Welcome to our pivot era. It’s launch day for the brand new @theriveterco website. Who I am: A 44-year old recovering lawyer turned serial entrepreneur/accidental creator. So far, I’ve launched a VC backed start-up, built social platforms and newsletters with over 500,000 followers/subscribers, and brought a new business to life for an iconic American brand. I’m also a mom of 4 girls, a wife, and an athlete (currently into: tennis and lifting weights with my husband). What The Riveter does: We teach women the skills and networks today that they can use to pivot their work or business tomorrow. How we do it: We teach you how to tell the world what you’re good at and how to build a community of stakeholders to hear your story. We’ll learn together through learning videos you can watch on your own time, expert town halls with iconic names, strategy sessions with me (Amy), workshopping ideas in small groups, and more. We're longtime fans of @mariashriver, who visited @theriveterco in Los Angeles. And all politics aside: we're ALWAYS a fan of women's health research. We've been, shall we say, underfunded.
I’m so amazingly proud to be a part of this groundbreaking initiative with the @whitehouse! Today, @POTUS established the first-ever White House Initiative on Women’s Health Research by @FLOTUS, galvanizing the federal government, the private sector, and philanthropy to improve women’s health. This is a big step forward for women’s health research. It must be national and federal policy to fund research that impacts and improves women’s lives. This is the beginning of getting us some answers on Alzheimer’s, heart disease, menopause, depression, osteoporosis, lung cancer, and more! #womenshealthmatters
