The more I explore this resort, the more my expectations (albeit low) are completely blown away. I truly don't understand the slander these accomodations receive in the hotel community.

My first ever stay at a WDW Value Resort.
Honestly, compared to my expectations, I've been impressed so far. Was expecting an average motel with Disney theming - the furnishings & amenitites are much better than that.

I'm a slight resort snob (have only stayed Deluxe at WDW) and have zero nostalgia for the All-Stars (my first stay ever was this week) but I have to say, I have been LOVING my time at Movies. I don't know if it was my low expectations or what, but this resort is extremely solid

Universal's Endless Summer - Dockside is a 2,000 room VALUE resort thats nearly to capacity in the middle of a national staff shortage yet still giving daily housekeeping w/out request. I know they're operated by third-party Loews but Disney has absolutely no excuse at this point

The "Kickback Hour" at the Drury Resort Disney Springs is seriously incredible.
Full bar with up to 3 alcoholic drinks per adult (or unlimited free mocktails), plus an extensive rotating food lineup including pasta, meatballs, nachos, hot dogs, baked potatoes, soup/salad, & more

I know they have a reason - & it's not the staff's fault for doing their job & doing it well - but Disney really has to change their policy of housekeeping knocking on your door at 8am on check-out day every single stay. Happened our last 4 stays at Disney without fail.

Checking in this morning at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside. Flight landed at 6am, to the resort by 630am, room was ready at 635am. Unpacked & ready to relax by 730am. Seriously remarkable stuff. Thats the magic right there.

I have deep concerns about how Pixar Place Hotel may hold up over the longterm (~6+ years), but for now, there is no short-changing how truly great of a job Imagineers have done here. It's lipstick on an aging pig, but its DAMN impressive lipstick
Price is the other major issue

We tried to snag one more night at Riviera Resort to tack onto our stay but it was all full, so we decided last minute to hop over to our highest-rated resort of all-time for a quick 1-nighter 😄

The Operations are (expectedly) a mess here at Paradise Pier ahead of the grand re-opening tomorrow. All guests must take the maintenance elevators to access the pool deck area.

Overall, an incredible pool area. Not quite perfect (on the smaller side, & right next to the freeway is a bummer) but these tie-fighter chairs take it up from 8.5 to 9 out of 10.

The Paradise Pier pool is currently under refurb so they gave us a free shuttle over to the DLH Pool. This is what heaven is like, huh?

Checking into Wilderness Lodge today. We've only been to this resort one time for a quick dinner in 2020, so we're extremely looking forward to this stay - our most anticipated resort stay since our 1st time at Poly. We decided to boat in from MK for our "first look" 😍

Were all checked in & unpacked here at Disney's Hotel Sante Fe at Disneyland Paris, but its a torrential downpour outside & were soaked to the core so no photos until the AM.
Theres nothing like the charm of a Disney hotel after a tiring day at the parks ✨

The walkway from the Aventura Hotel pool to the front entrance of Volcano Bay is about ~4 minutes, depending on security. Life is perfect.

After leaving the Disneyland Hotel, we checked into the historic Safari Inn in Burbank, CA - where True Romance (& a bunch of other TV shows) were filmed. Full review coming soon, but this is a tough downgrade after a 2-bedroom Disneyland Suite 😂😂

Saying (a sad) goodbye to Bay Lake Tower today. Wasn't expecting to enjoy this as much as most other WDW Deluxe's, but nearly everything about it exceeded our expectations except for the (awful) operations.
Service, grounds, & location were all incredible.

HOLY CRAP. THEY UPGRADED US TO AN EXECUTIVE SUITE. We have no idea why. Life is so damn good.
We decided to splurge for 2 nights of our trip. Day 1 of our splurge begins today - Leonardo Royal.
Were punching way above our weight class in terms of prestige here. Every guest is in formal wear & here we are in touristy shorts & t-shirts 😂😂
