I stopped at Whole Foods in Chicago suburbs today & chatted with the guy stocking organic produce. He didn't know organic can still spray pesticides.

Consumers are misinformed & it isn't right. ALL of our food is safe, organic does NOT mean superior.

Our farm's not organic, but I'm proud of our conservation efforts! Some of our acreage receives no spray. We utilize cover crops, IPM, crop rotation, soil testing, AND have been no-till for more than 20 years! Farming boils down to management, not label.

Today I met a small organic farmer. When asked what she did when an animal got sick, she said she tries medicinal herbs to help but if it doesnt...theyre culled.
Meanwhile her meat is labeled "humane" & "responsible."

directly LIES to the public. Cross contamination lawsuits have NEVER happened. A myth. & EVERYTHING can be patented including nonGMO. GMOs HELP farmers.
As a result, the companies that make GMOs now have the power to sue farmers whose fields are contaminated with GMOs, even when it is the result of inevitable drift from neighboring fields.

I believe soil biology is more important than chemistry. I believe we should let the soil be & use as little chemical as possible. Don't disturb or till it. Use cover crops. And I'm PRO-GMO.

Theres no such thing as vegan. Non meat foods are still fertilized by livestock manure (especially if u buy organic) & pollinated by bees. Sheeps wool is used in home insulation & carpet fibers. U depend on animals for survival & livestock only accounts for 4% of US ghg emissions

When transitioning from conventional to organic farming, the cropland must be managed organically for three years before becoming certified. Non-GMO farming is a great transition because it eliminates GMO seeds and pesticides, making you two steps closer to certification.
