Colorism is a major issue in the art community. It's one thing if the artist was made aware of the colorism, addressed it, and amended it. However, they are defending it by saying "You haven't paid for these two pictures, so you can choose to turn them off." (google translation)

"modify your behavior, outlook, or lifestyle" is insane. like sure there are some legitimate lifestyle changes that *can* help but that is so extremely dependent and unique to the individual. for example exercise helps my chronic migraine but may make it worse for someone else

Regardless of the criticisms on my recolor from either myself or others (which are welcomed), one thing is for certain and it's that the original piece is whitewashed, and the artist themselves acknowledged it and DEFENDED their whitewashing.

I was also trying to match the artists original design with how the colors are flat but this time with actual melanin & warmth to the skin. In doing so I neglected doing highlights and I accidentally focused more on mid and low tones. Perhaps if I have the energy I can fix that

Churchill has CRPS (complex regional pain syndrome) due to being branded (like livestock) as punishment on his arm. Due to this injury, he developed CRPS even years after it "healed" in terms of the wound. The damage to his nerves causes him to have flares from time to time.
