This is your reminder that cloth masks aren't very effective against an airborne virus. Pick kN95s, N95s, and other respirators instead! And if you really want cute masks, there are lots of (real) kN95s with fun colours and patterns.
I've seen two tiktoks now of people selling cloth masks again and like...something about profiting off people starting to pay attention again with something that is not going to keep them safe doesn't sit right with me :/

Also, hearing Isaac Bogoch claim he doesn't need to mask at all times cause he "knows the risks"... DO YOU?! Cause 10–20% of people are getting Long-COVID & that risk is cumulative. Those odds are incredibly high. Anyone can get Long-COVID, at any time, from even mild infections.

It takes an average of 17 years for info from research settings to reach doctors, so many doctors are behind on this sort of info. We're finding out more and more how important rest is during the recovery period & how NOT resting can increase risk of post-viral conditions.

Fellow Ontarian, but my dad works (in Canada) for a huge U.S. company. Most of his co-workers work & live in the U.S. A couple years ago, 1 co-worker told him he was glad they had good insurance through work because he “only had to pay $8000” out of pocket for day surgery.🙃

My mom was a social worker before becoming a teacher. In the 80s, she worked with intellectually disabled adults. They were telling her they hated when people called them the r-word back then. The fact that people are using it again is DISGUSTING.

Also, I don't know much about Covixyl, so not sure if this applies, but some of the nasal sprays people have been using against COVID aren't good for people who get migraines and/or bad headaches. That's why I've stayed away from nasal sprays (also cost) & stuck with N95s.

Seriously. I'm in Ontario, Canada, & people were supposed to stay in their regions, but all the people from the cities kept coming to my region to go to the beaches, visit attractions, etc... Like yeah, most stores were closed/curbside only, but how was this even a "lockdown"?

This much illness isn't normal though. Yes, kids absolutely get sick more frequently, but not THIS much. We're still in a pandemic, with an airborne virus that's able to damage immune systems, which makes people more susceptible to other illnesses.

It's both. The problem is private, for-profit clinics require more funding, which if OHIP-covered, drains the healthcare budget faster. Also pulls resources from the public system. & of course, it's the Ford gov's way of profiting off of sick people/making their friends richer.

To anyone that thinks private healthcare is the solution, look at the private LTC homes in Ontario in 2020. Death rates were significantly higher than in non-profit & municipal LTC homes, due to lower staffing levels, less/poor PPE, & lax protocols.

Yeah, I'm not at all suggesting shows were never cancelled before, but I went to tons of shows (big & small) pre-pandemic & never saw one cancelled. Also worked at a label both pre-pandemic & during the first 2 years & don't remember issues with shows being cancelled much before.

Seriously!! Summer 2020 & 2021 were so nice. Clear skies, consistent, but not overly-hot temps, & plants grew well. Then everything opened up & summer 2022 & 2023 were brutally hot, w/ erratic weather, were hazy/overcast most of the time, & there were wildfires non-stop.

That's absolutely false. Wearing a well-fitted, high-quality mask (AKA a respirator/N95) does an incredible job of protecting individuals from getting infected. Even surgical masks and cloth masks can provide some protection.
