I’ve been caring for #sicklecell patients for 10+ yrs, initially as an inpatient RN, & as a hematology Nurse Practitioner for the past 7yrs. The racial health disparities were apparent as soon as I entered the field, but the repeated patient stories as a NP amplified the issue.

@FLLFlyer Just landed in FLL and exited to a madhouse. The entire flight tracker board was full yellow/delays. People literally walking on the highway to get Ubers since the traffic is standstill. Hopefully this is just extra precautionary & it isn't the start of holiday travel threats 😭
