In short, Mothra wasn’t useless or unimportant in KOTM like some people say. She was basically the MVP. It’s thanks to her if Monarch could find out Godzilla was alive, find out where he was and always thanks to her if Godzilla won. Without her, Ghidorah would have won.

Burning Godzilla. With Mothra’s energy, Godzilla is able to reach this final stage of their symbiosis, clear thanks to the pattern of her wings in his atomic pulses. It’s thanks to her that Godzilla can reach this form and finally kill Ghidorah.

When Ghidorah becomes King and all the Titans listen to him, Mothra is among the ones to not listen because of her Alpha status (yes, she is an Alpha in the Monsterverse). After hearing his call, she understands Godzilla is in peril, she hatches and gets ready to action.

I miss when in the Monsterverse Godzilla wasn’t a one note asshole and actually had a personality. An old creature who can be aggressive but knows when to be calm, who showed of having a soft side towards humanity, that he had a connection with humans that he sorely misses.

Later she arrives in Boston to help Godzilla against Ghidorah. Their team up is brief, but it helps quite a lot: with her webs she is able to block Ghidorah (who is as strong as Godzilla mind you) and, this way, give Godzilla the time to inflict a critical attack on Ghidorah.

Always in the same scene we see she is there to help Monarch find Godzilla’s exact location. It’s thanks to her that Monarch finds out he is still alive, and always thanks to her that they are able to find his location to revitalize him.
