She dances with me
Takes my hand & looks to me
Such dreams I cannot stop
All that remains of her.
She knows I love her
Happiness so rare it glitters
In her eyes, her mind
She loves all of us.
I love to dance with her
I take her hand, her eyes
A love supreme
She’s everywhere.
My first book, "Turbulent Waves: Enigmatic micro-writes cast ashore during a global pandemic" is available via Amazon in Kindle/eBook & paperback versions. Note that the Kindle version includes the gorgeous color images.
If you were a song
you'd never leave my lips
if you were a poem
you'd never leave my heart
Song of my poetry you sing
cut diamond beautiful
eyes of opal you make me
dreaming of our fire
If I were your song
I'd play for you all night
If I were your poem
I'd never leave your eyes
RIP my dear sweet mentor, Linda. Of all the kind souls I have met under our sun, Linda bestowed one of the rarest gifts anyone can share: her ability to look into your writing and unlock your potential with an astonishing lightness of being the teacher that she was her entire
You ask my eyes if I’m real
my uncertainty touch
measures your fate
as you decide mine
We walk thoughts home
along our haunted roads
reaching for days unseen
as they crowd around us
Comfortable darkness
lends its stealthy feel
tomorrow’s glances beckon
sleeping with our dreams.
Yours is a light within
mine is a space that holds
joy is our reach across
a coda to songs we play
Time has dimmed our tide
yet a touch remains
like stars breaching my sky
gorgeous & empyreal
Should we never be again
our glances transparent
a deepness we share
coveting our real
An angel appeared
slipping into my mind
My dear love, she said
You must let her fly
Astonished I had a waking dream
we walked hand-in-hand
forever laughing
under our sun
Tears found me as she left
whispering like a goodbye kiss
She knows you love her
Someday you will walk again
Surreal touches down
we never really leave
it’s just time keeps us
prisoners outside now
Shall we make up stories
days when we were free
helpless within our fires
just so we know it’s real
You look past my words
searing moments gifted
stunned I unlock us so
we happen onto now.
Under Light
Your moment, a flowering no one has ever met
a hopeful glimpse asks if we might dance
my eyes sip light from the chalice of time
Your breath like a moonlit tsunami says yes.
We move as if our delight became unmasked
You, my fleeting memory of a long lost poet
Sunlight tasting like you
tempts memories
beams play my eyes
rapt up inside yours
Siren’s call commands
anchoring ancient thought
left under brilliant rays
I wonder who you are
Starlight hugs me close
whispers you once kissed
surfing my turbulent waves
you take all that remains
All these words combine
saying such that you're
an angel in my dreams
on these lonely streets
only you command.
A glance takes my breath
a smile, a crush kept.
All these words scatter
like butterflies afraid
your gorgeous mind
devours them before
they tell you
you're beautiful.
Losing Our Poetry
A sigh married my lips as I lost yesterday’s poem
we danced to big thief as our view began to blur
metaphors lost hold of me as your words faded
dried roses made my bed as I sped too fast in time.
Falling eyelashes paint our future perfect words
your eyes
A glass of wine, an old record spinning music, and all of these cherished moments we shared… Poetry begins with the eyes of the world captivating time by dancing without ever looking down; yours has always mesmerized mine.
Distracted I wander through
memories looking for you
as I want you here
but they’re slipping away
Suddenly alone I forget
my way back, my mind
full of doors & rooms
but no one lets me in
Who do we turn to when
yesterday's universe
no longer needs us and
today's won’t remember?
Surrounded by a chaparral of starlight
poets farm pebbles and diamonds
a garden of words flowers in their minds
even brambles blossom in a thought.
Love picks and chooses her path
she's a poem instantiated by light
caught within entangled moments
even time steps aside to let us
Caught in canyon's surreal
when a day meant more
perhaps I'll find my way out
daydreaming of you.
Visions of a cloudless sky
when laughter ran ahead
we'd make us up again
baking time together
So we climbed to tomorrow
leaving who we were
you never wanted more
daydreaming of us.
Tangled Up in You
Rimbaud wrote of our existing multiple lives
Rivers of temptation each one in love with us
You kissed a version of me that will never quit
Under your blue light even my shadow prays.
Dylan’s wise man asks to live up to each of us
Even as we sing what matters
I know it was our time
when the rain took you
we fell apart that day
unable to save ourselves
You left us all in tears
where were we when
you cried for help
why was I alone apart
We need your heart here
our minds desert lands now
will you take our hands
to light our eyes again?
I've known you forever
but we've never met.
You picked me up when
I awoke and you
stayed with me when
I was dying.
A touch from your
shared smile sparked life
when everyone else
turned away.
And the light around you
shines inside me when others
brought only darkness.
If I garden your beautiful
will your ladybugs stay
If I hold your gaze
will you fall into mine
Sunlight begging to intrude
it kisses our lips
smiles run away with us
dancing across our eyes
If you tender love for us
will our song fly
If you flower my mind
will you stay to be us
Of Loves Lost & Found
Your gorgeous desolation
thrills me
as I gaze across for you
our stage shared in the stars.
Your dappled light
beside desert evening trees
mesmerizes love found
in such exquisite alluring eyes.
Your sad ephemeral smile
touches mine deeply
as we remember
Abandoned astonishment
my days now collide
seemingly innocent memory
telling yesterday tales
Your words fragment me
deciphering today
such labyrinthine questions
my only recourse ahead
Sanity's answers refused
I walk away shattered
your paradoxical songs
my only remaining touch
Lost Light
Eventide’s flame kisses dusk’s farewell
I wander lost within your lantern’s tomb
poetic graffiti ghosts who we still see
in our darkness we shared our real light.
If we never footprint lost shores again
our secret music only the sun brings
I will remember the day
Tomorrow's Poetry
You think as no one is near all our words are lost
Just before we closed that door that opened us
Till that day when I fell in love inside your mind
And all of mine found yours still hanging around.
It’s too hard to pray for what might never be, love
Even when
To Love Another
To love another, her lashes wonder at yours
Searching for a soul she gazes deep Into mine
Colors dawn in her face remembering a girl
My eyes wet as I see how hard it is for her now.
What does it mean for a broken soul to love us?
A heart courses our blood as we
Yesterday’s Poetry
Of all the gorgeous I have read
traces of your ink all over me
as if you knew my eyes
would open and flower for yours
We dance in otherworldly languages
under skies unwrapping our minds
every word we write
still tastes like that first kiss.
When you abandon
Crying Trees
Mommy, where’s daddy?
Brutal floods my heart
I’m blind to everything
nowhere left to go.
Violence mobs my mind
they dragged him away
such hatred in those eyes
he was loved by everyone.
Trees crying all around
their arms weary of our black
he built their homes
I remember the day you
moved into my mind.
A room of your own
inside my memories.
Do you still keep mine
as you peer out smiling
when you find these words
remembering you?
The days still find us
thinking alike as we write
of things we once knew yet
I wonder am I still inside you?
You’re walking inside me
haunting my memories
your footprints making
dreams of what once was
When we’re alone
watching who we’ve become
yesterday’s laughter
breaks our hearts again
Knowing that we owned us
dancing to our electric
tomorrow’s poetic dreams
what we might have been
My Poem
Our words work to find a silent space
when the tide shifts between us
as I write them down shadowing you
yours still work magic looking for me
Wrapping your words inside mine
they all dance in silent incantations
when you're all alone look for me
my poetry still lives

Killing the Blues
A poet winks as her light begins to fade
killing the blues just to make you want
I see your shadow kissing mine, lover
should our dance ever make us, you will.
Painting us as if our breath still holds on
your brush saunters into eternity’s gift
eyes from our
Dreaming Apparitions
Would you wander across my blue skies
soar free with your wings against mine
bathe under gorgeous ancient starlight
as we eclipse the dark side of the moon?
When memory flees will you read my poetry
recapture who we once were under the sun
feel the rain
Chrysalis’s Fate
As if azure elysian fields could hold new wings
l'espirit volant soars within imagination's sky
when I sail in mine linguistic rain binds me
as if each thought decides who I will become.
Our transit through time's lens asks if we see
how to find ourselves when
Hope
How do we stay sane
when broken and alone
only hope kept dear and
lost we forgot how to find her?
Do we flood our minds
erase everything inside
with wine, music, and wrong words
waiting for the nevercomes?
Who are we when what's left
picks up these words
thoughts still
Calliope’s Dream
If we had never met would our poetry still be
does light wonder if our eyes can really see
Calliope introduced us knowing who we were
time opened a space just to let us find our real
When we’re alone do you know you’re beautiful
I write songs that never forget
Lingering Scents
Petrichor scent lingers on my words
of a sweet kiss you were here once
as rain’s envy tries to take me on
my thoughts scatter in the wind.
Hollow coves replay our music past
a storm we'd share like lust or desert heat
a taste of salt suspended in the ocean air
January loved playing our real
she dances laughing
we cannot look away
her frost licking our lips
Yet these frozen moments
copiously entwined
find both of us
remembering our true
Do you want me here
rewriting our whispers
skating on her icy breath
as she makes us both real?
Twilight's magic encases
you sunglass my eyes
chills crowd our minds
scattering reason's logic
Drinking light like wine
I take yours inside
sipping on my shadow
you laugh at my darkness
Music making love to us
you blink your smile
skipping stones to me
holding on as we submerge
We left part of our souls outside of time
Timeless children run along our future shores
Laughter reminds us ours will always be real
Wonder bridges what was with what we’ll be.
Torrential light streams across our remarkables
Your voice a song unlike any other poem
We’ve become
My abridged/2nd edition, eBook version of Turbulent Waves is live on Amazon. Note that the Kindle, Kobo, Pages version includes the gorgeous color images. The paperback version will be available by early October.
Your Shore
We fly through the night
riding words we find on the way
surreptitious winds take us
no one knows we're here.
Never been one to follow
night's beckoning allure
we’re restless like the ocean
searching for our shore.
Amused you stay with me
eyeing us under Moon's
I'll always remember you
lost within your ocean
my mind shoring yours
sharing waves we made
I know what you felt then
days we took laughing
how could we forget
there was no one like us
You know how I felt too
your mind's fire in mine
soft-voiced memories
will you remember mine?
Deep Waters
Deep water souls we are
alive within this wondrous galaxy
sharing love, breath, water, & light
as we sail across her sea of stars.
Timeless dreams we surface upon
their tide tries to pull us back under
burning possible futures into memory
like love branded within
Your Light
Seamlessly we move from thought to write
a reach we ask moving into your light
our words we gift as keys one might find
as they shephard us through perception's door.
Epiphany's enchanting silent metamorphosis
deftly written across our voracious eyes
we devour your
We wander silent streets
lost dreams litter our way
in search of unbroken ones
patiently waiting for us.
Astonished glee unfolds
each one glitters with
promises we remember
days we've long forgotten
Magic still lives here
like lost secrets
its power over us
sacred through time.
Ghosts of Our Regret
We turn a page unmasking our child ghosts
Each asks if your comfortable sits well now
You look out in love from frozen memories
Should I raise mine just to taste our forlorn?
Yours is the blade that changes time left
Ours is the only chance we will ever
No one knew like you
finding shadows in music
always saving my light
even when you were gone
Finding your beautiful
songs still write me
a haunting muse
recalls our storms home
Summer breaks within us
our time like rainbows
beautiful light in this rain
your song still plays me.
In the Evening of Our Lives
Been in Cali so long I find sunsets inside of you
Atmospheres painting silent melodies above us
In the land of mountains and oceans our air sings
As again we all walk through times of love & loss.
The razor blade of time asks if our healing has set
Gossamers
Ghostlike touches find our deepness
of my mind letting yours go
love songs freed from our lips
just wisps and gossamers of us now.
Silhouettes dance threading memories
together like fingers or glints in our eyes
tendrils still woven inside our memories
as we have
I stopped to look you in your eyes
my mistake was thinking you saw me
like rain under a full moon’s love
you can never see your real
Our distance now cradles who we were
I wrote you in poetry that fell in love
does time mean we might still be
dreams of us will make someone real.
The Light of Your Words
Words hold us together with light
I’ve always been drawn to yours
a pause like a shadow defines us
a dalliance written within our poetry.
Glimpses share the words we play
your eyes shape the light within you
we dance under a sun who birthed us
everyone
Lonely Footprints
Let your soul rest as all of us embrace
these moments when we are all alone
when doubts string your gorgeous
and all I can share are dreams of you.
I hear you’ve met another poet sweet
her words conjure everyone we’ve met
Miles wanted you to be patient
Underwater Sunlight
Challenged you to hear me in your reign of words
like underwater sunlight would warm your eyes
or tales from our ancient wary sycophants
shall we surface to share in the light of our own?
Watching days play through us in reverse
they replay in our minds as
We soared above clouds
rapt visions fell below
startlingly Calliope took her
and a stranger flew away
Left with only my wings
Luna delightedly lured
casting my remains
onto her fading shadow
Muses still bear my words
playing our songs
I will remember you
as Saudade owns me now.
It is my great honor to tell you that some of my poetry has been published in the gorgeous September 2023 issue of the literary magazine, Prosetrics, written, illustrated, and published by the one-who-does-it-all, Arzu Deniz.💙
Silent beautiful your eyes
gazes of gorgeous shadow
slip into my open sky
like fragile ocean waves
Storms distant we dance
steps brazen our thought
treasuring a glance
we ghost our way home
Moonlit mountains beckon
our painted desert
your last look cries
a wave without a shore.
She stepped out into my sun
shadows crowd behind us
chasing her superstar
even desert clouds shy away
Photographing laughter
scenes only lovers make
when night was ours
playing lines we owned
Days streak across our sky
stories we won't stop
making us up
like clouded silhouettes
Languishing Words like Unpicked Grapes
Each word you wield are they just for show
as your hands ask for a dance with mine
born from unused thoughts they grow
flowering such intents to remake ours.
Rhetoric bakes us into poetry's imagination
as if nothing else matters along
What I find thinking of you
places we’ve been before
sandstorms my mind
as I breathe in all of you
Walking inside your memory
sunlight kisses
flashbacks can’t keep up
such is your deepness
Wild retrouvailles reign
measuring desire
a lightness of being you
storms who I’ve become
Inspiration rains through these words
while a storyteller daydreams of light
which of you will join me in the sun
capture our mysteries while we can.
Under a crescent moon firestorms live
in the shadow of our goals love begins
revelations compass nightfall's wonder
in time I
Sandboxing Our Minds
Of ages that have brought all of us together
through paths of light and daily ritual
time holds enchanted lives close to the sun
never letting us go off alone in the dark.
We find thoughts like exquisite seashells
on days we've played with love's elixirs
When a storm brews you can smell poetry in the atmosphere like coffee that begs for lips; even petrichor wanders lost in the rain as language decides how we'll remember her effect on what remains when the wind and the clouds sail away.
Human kindness touches down
She takes your hand
looks you in your eyes
steels your heart for what comes
You keep my memory
aflame serving you
we trouble such wantings
against our deepness
I want you here against me
your fire remakes us
all these days in love
our only way home.
Comfortable Melancholy
Time sips on melancholic’s comfortable
a reign for craving an absent thrill
abandoned, yesterday's real has fled
you know I fall in love much to easily.
Seems like I always knew how to read you
seductive dark smiled begging us to play
clouds can never
A Waltz Across Our Skies
Her languid waltz enthralls our skies
as stars embrace ethereal light
even humans gaze in rapt trances
our lives tethered to her shadow.
Often I would glimpse my own
as the night would sing of her charms
would you walk under such gorgeous with me
become
Remembering Childhood's End
You became a poem in a sunless snowbound caress
a breathless couplet embraced a sudden revelation
our childhood's wanderlust laugher sparkled
lonely snowmen secretly sang songs only we know.
Stark atmospheric sunlight glistens all around us
elegant
Twin Flames
You were my Calliope eons past, long ago
a deepness I’ve only found within you
even light hurried to catch ours
entanglements found in luminous poetry.
Shores invite my sails on abandoned sands
footprints walk as if they’re romancing
your voice still sleeps with
Remember every single one you love around you is only here for a brief time. Step out of your bubble of time and share everything that they mean to you before they leave onto their next road without us. The most heartbreaking realization is to know that you didn’t have a chance
A Poet’s Goodbye Kiss
I wrote about Time asking to stop for us
when only you and I could read my poems
it’s as if we found a new language in us
even her songs asked if we might be real.
How does reason ever survive all alone
days when both of us wrote in silence
we were always
Your eyes told me more
than I thought you'd say
as our music introduced us
so we talked after all
We danced with the lyrics
ahead of our fleeing thoughts
your mind leading me
mine thinking ahead
But the song ended
and you took those
gentle eyes away
leaving mine to say goodbye.
Dreams of You
In between dreams your breath bakes what’s left
We move as if there’s only one to find what’s real
By dawn you remember what we've both shared
I write love letters to the ghosts of who we were.
You hold me to a promise as no one understands
Even our music tries to
December’s Shores
December asked me if I remembered you
her cold staring eyes a light unmasked
serene snowfall a dance of frozen tears
as if the sky might kiss your goodbye look
Our words footprint time like snowstorms
their gentle sounds play upon lonely shores
we hear them
Sun in the Night
The twilight sun touches our face
your eyes flower inside mine
we speak in yesterday's metaphors
a damp sky opens above us.
Rain asks if we might care to dance
our laughter invites warmer analogues
a poetic glass of wine breaks
we take a surreptitious kiss.
A
Delirium’s Rapt Euphoric
Accidental sustain makes our rapt look
andante eyes caress a song we sing
a soared wildness debates our fate
even in a dream only love tears alone.
Exhilarated time balters with our muse
eyes flower like newborn moonstruck glee
creatures of the sun
Stars & Atoms
We mirror your real
No one really sees our truth
Until we share it
Caught between stars and atoms
Our lives are reflected light.

Autumn Leaves
Alone even music asks to play under stars
you catch my breath as if they wait for you
we both dance to a song no one has heard
as waning sunlight opens her treasures.
Light tides as our thoughts find each other
see its waves embrace us like love touches
yours has
Words Within Us
Caught in imagination's tide of perception fodder
words ebb and flow deciding who we shall be today
charmed by the graze of one as it surfaces within
I love the taste of yours as you write about them.
Who are we before cloaking ourselves in language
like Plato's
Sharing Light & Rain
Ocean and Cloud shared Rain
she fell from Sky to wash our eyes
they all tugged at our hearts
as we all remembered yesterday.
Sun and Moon shared Light
she falls to drench our spirit
they love our eyes as we look
our thoughts moving with us today.
Dusk and
A lost sun fell in gravity’s embrace
her planetary children eviscerated
as billions vanished
their light lost in her event horizon
Time plays tricks sharing light
our dances sing of who we might be
we’ve always been lovers of words
where will our gravity take us, love?

Sunlight tasting like you
tempts memory
beams play my eyes
rapt up inside yours
Siren’s call commands
anchoring our thoughts
left under brilliant rays
I wonder who you are
Starlight hugs us close
whispers we kissed
surfing my turbulent waves
you have all that remains.

The Poetry of Love
Would you fly free if everyone cried for you
In between time when your moment came
If we’re here to teach ourselves how to be
how does love ever let us go in our time?
Tears from a broken mind ask if we can see
humanity stands alone in the cave of youth
how
Time's Canopy
Canopies of your beautiful memories
light up who I've become now
through days we couldn’t stop being us
a dance we made in laughter’s cosy echos.
Your song envelopes mine like a radiant sky
mountains of gorgeous clouds ask to play
into the light we’re dreaming of
When you cannot see us
believe in yourself
we both dance in time
knowing we had one chance.
Semaphoring lies we smile
no one tastes like ours
do we cook these words
to save our souls again?
Nightfall has found me
all these words are real
when you awaken
believe mine were yours.
All along your similar has become my jamais vu
like a mask we trade to refresh tired smiles
your sighs remind me yesterday is a memory
my words lonely signposts of promises yet to be.
I can’t teach an echo to want you like I do
our entanglements never guessed who we are
magnetic
Forgotten Words
Chance to be who you might never imagine
we raft sudden thoughts as if we’re drowning
as eyes touch who you’ve always protected
I write my poetry just to remember yours.
Come on love, you are the road no one knows
challenged to find who might walk with me
its
Unwritten Poems Like Tossed Pebbles
Our moments are on trial as we decide this fate
Lasting glances ripple across time like pebbles
Each look we gift becomes an unwritten poem
When your smile reflects my light I’m set free.
Grounded in landscapes only you have imagined
Each
All of these words are
yours tonight.
Drink them with the
evening sky as it
plays above us,
opening a page for
seductive's mood,
singing to us,
as we watch
Othiym Lunarsa,
goddess of the moon
slip away and
embrace her lover as
she sets onto her stage
for us with a kiss.
Blue Light
Snowflakes fall like a moment between us
each memory bookcasing childhood’s end
our wings frosted in a sudden evening’s chill
laughter rains like the love we shared.
Your aroma atmospheres poetry I still imagine
desert citrus fruit trees too young to blossom
our
The Light You Share
Dust shadows us as if we reign in yesterday's
entangled our eyes ask if you want more
we recall times beneath the sweet changes
captured in currents no one can say where.
Love asks if a poem knows who we’ll become
all these words conspire to find your real
Requiems
Apprehension settles eventide's prophecy
washed out light wanes in looming darkness
starlight refuses to come out and help
the gods themselves disappear into night.
Stark foreboding premonitions sunrise
thought loses its way inside our mind's eye
The Isle of the Dead
Gifts
Your saxophone slides into my night
both of us like this unknown territory
waxing moonlight emboldens mystery
as if a dream come true you make me
And when we both meet our favorite
words simmer between our crazy eyes
now I know who you were all along
a song both of us
Time’s Cruel Farewell
A poet awakens on the last days of life
music, art, nature’s gifts all left alone
artifacts of what love meant for us
stripped of ours how long will they last?
The moon bereft of darling companions
eclipses light no one will ever write to
as our words
I felt you leave as if my song had ended
confused light wondered where to go
bells rang from a discordant chapel
a vacant shore headphoned my thoughts
A year has passed my exquisite poet
all these lonely memories walk with me
when time's wave finally tides over us
will we sing a
Becoming Our Poem
Cadence met me trading a burn in a poetry of light
deep in her intrigue wild notes began to play me
as if her magic concoction ached to unmask mine
a delirious guitar played her like a zealous flame.
Fireflies of desire bake a shy sky's wanton clouds
abandoned
Planting Seeds of Future Poems
You touched me down in my bones that rainy day
Seeming like a storm in a word our eyes flowered
Most of the time when I think of you I’m all alone
Even dark skies can’t end such moments with you.
A sigh plays melancholic piano like Bill Evans
The Epiphany of Poetry in a Rainstorm
An unseen poet's wings carries her soul
Into vast architectures of a wondrous realm
We met building sandcastles in rain clouds
The love affair of a poet and her imagination.
Like a kiss you only see in a dream she smiles
Lost words take
