@Shannonteaches @katiemartinedu Teaching is a difficult profession, I agree! However, I would encourage you to add to your respiratory of burnout blamings: 1) how is your district supporting you? 2) what affect does you union have on teacher performance? 3) have you reached out for professional development?

@teachseuss @katiemartinedu “And stop holding Ts to ridiculous higher than every other profession standard w/ expectations...” what if the medical field had this expectation of its doctor graduates? The opposite of what you say should be true; it’s the implementation and follow up that is failing us.

@almcsam @alicekeeler @MsCostelloMCHS @rickwormeli2 I hear you! I do have an issue with universally rewarding high achieving kids extra for things they would do anyway - seems opposite of research - BUT, that can depend also on population demographics and kid specifics.

@alicekeeler @MsCostelloMCHS @almcsam @rickwormeli2 There seems to be no real agreement, whether based on research and/or popular opinion, on the topic of due dates and deadlines other than “you need to be prepared for X; if it is Y, you’d better be prepared for that as well.” So, how do we prepare kids for this eventuality?

@alicekeeler @jackiegerstein This topic deserves so much attention. In reference to the claim - should we not teach the growth mindset to those who are not privileged? To what extent is privilege a “determining” factor in growth mindset acquisition? We know this, we move the convo forward.

Spreadsheet (example) for understanding time constraints, establishing self-imposed deadlines and tracking progress - student use and teacher use. Help develop student agency and ownership of work. @guhsdtech
