A historic moment in NYC: City Council passes bill to recognize Losar Tibetan New Year as a city-wide street cleaning holiday, adding the first ever Buddhist holiday to the ASP calendar. Thank u @CMJulieWon & @NickGulotta for this monumental achievement.
Recognizing the importance of Losar in our city counteracts the rhetoric at the federal level that refugees are no longer welcome here. The passage of Intro. 100 is a clear statement from the City Council that we want to continue being a sanctuary city for refugees (1/2)
