I hate contemporary architecture so much

@BornInArcady The question of what can be omitted or substituted and how is an interesting one. For example, inventing capitals appears to be fairly unproblematic but you can’t just get rid of them entirely. I haven’t paid enough attention to mouldings to be sure about the flexibility there

The anti-traditional direction that ornate American architecture took beginning with Sullivan and Wright is a dead end. There appears to be more enthusiasm for Art Deco among trad activists than trad architects and this doesn’t surprise me in the slightest
