One thing I thought was missing in the show is the moment Ravi truly realized Sal was innocent. Not necessarily by retracing the steps, but Ravi's pure, contagious joy at having his brother's image finally returned to him was one of the most special things in the book.

Actually we do NOT know holly approved of all the changes. We know she loves it, but she didn't have that big of an input as y'all think she did. She didn't write the script and isn't a producer. She only pointed out things and gave her advice.
Imagine being a fandom who complains about the adaptation of his favorite books because they think they ruined it even though the same author approved all the changes and added details. A reality for agggtm fandom

I don't think it's the *only* reason. But I still hate it because the point of the book was that Pip was obsessed with the truth and getting justice. And that's what makes agad impactful and her arc and character development heartbreaking.
i’ve been enjoying the show so far but I’ll have to admit that i HATEE the fact that pip only wanted to solve the murder because she felt guilty that she might’ve contributed to andie’s disappearance

Thinking that something as horrible as Max being found innocent in his rape trial in ggbb ended up saving Pip's life in agad.
It seemed the worst that could happen at the time, but if he'd been convicted of rape, Pip probably would've been convicted of murder.
