DO NOT shut down your arm between Summer and Fall
Literally the worst thing you can do for your arm before Fall Ball
Back off on some volume (total pitches / throwing) work on your movement deficiencies, sharpen your pitches up

Everyone thinks of ‘preparation’ as the skill work you do leading up to a game. ‘Preparation’ is so much more than just taking some grounders and BP. ‘Preparation’ is a continuous cycle every single day. Eat well + sleep well + AND crush your skill work/training = 💯% prepared
When a kid has a bad game early in the day, my first two questions are:
1) What’d you eat for breakfast?
2) When did you go to bed and when did you wake up?
Everyone wants it to be a complex mechanical or mental issue, when it’s usually a simple process problem.

One of my biggest pet peeves as a coach (especially a baseball coach also involved with the S&C community) - 90% of the time I see high schoolers just pick up a baseball without proper preparation. Makes me cringe. Take pride in your warm up!

Warm up to throw. Don’t throw to warm up. And don’t stretch your shoulder.
Shoulders and arms should be burning and you should be sweating before you pick up a baseball to throw.

- PBR / PG numbers & showcases
- sending a million emails to schools
- Attending camps
And not enough focus put on the

squad this Spring/Summer. Phenomenal group of kids and parents. Makes this “job” not so much of a job. Couldn’t be more thankful to be in the position I’m in!
Just went all summer w/ the 15u Canes National. No drama, just baseball. The maturity was a direct reflection of all of their parents. Amazing job & a hat tip to you. Your sons smile, show joy, celebrate others instead of themselves, & we never ran out of high 5s.

I’m not really sure why a lot of people are Anti-Fall baseball. Fall baseball schedules are typically lighter by nature anyway

Terrible take. This is exactly the reason most kids have a sense of self-entitlement and jump ship if they don’t like something nowadays. Only reason a kid shouldn’t be going on his HS spring break trip is affordability… these trips are usually a vacation in itself anyway 🤷🏼♂️
High school baseball is extremely unimportant. Enjoy your family. If your goal is to play MLB, your attendance in a HS tournament doesn’t matter at all. With all the training tools available to kids these days, don’t let any single coach bully you around.

Interesting observation today at our facility (1/2)
Lots of athletes choosing not to train because it is a holiday. Ironically the athletes that did attend are the ones that are having the most success in-game. Some families / athletes just don’t quite understand what it takes
